A candlelit tribute to Fleetwood Mac brings a live, multi-sensory concert to Palm Springs at The Ritz-Carlton, Rancho Mirage. Within the soft glow of candles, a string quartet presents favorites such as Everywhere, Gypsy, You Make Loving Fun, Never Going Back Again, Don't Stop, Gold Dust Woman, Go Your Own Way, Landslide, Songbird, Rhiannon, and The Chain. The performance runs 60 minutes, doors open 45 minutes prior, and late entry is not permitted once the music begins. The experience is open to ages 8 and up, with anyone under 16 accompanied by an adult. The venue is ADA compliant. Seating is assigned within each zone on a first come first served basis, and date and time options can be selected during booking. A T-shirt without a V-neck is required. Choose long pants with belt loops, or shorts that cover the thighs, and wear athletic shoes or hiking boots. The talk is led by Jack Fitzsimmons, representing The Xerces Society for Invertebrate Conservation. A lifelong gardener and self-described science enthusiast, his early run-in with a wasp nest sparked a lasting curiosity about what insects do beyond causing pain. He brings training from UCR’s Climate Steward Program and the Pollinator Steward Certification through Pollinator Partnership, and will share guidance grounded in science on supporting pollinators and other invertebrates. The Xerces Society is an international nonprofit dedicated to protecting insects and other invertebrates, along with their habitats, through science-grounded conservation, advocacy, and public education, with a focus on pollinators.

3 Day Scrapbook Weekend! Palm Springs, Ca

A three day scrapbooking getaway at Rancho Las Palmas in Palm Springs offers hands-on creativity, community, and plenty of perks. Over the course of the weekend, participants can complete 28 12-by-12 pages along with four mini projects. A 3 ring 12-by-12 scrapbook album is included, and everyone receives a tote bag and thank you gifts. The schedule features make and take activities and a lively crop party to kick things off. The second day focuses on finishing a complete 20 page 12-by-12 album, with catered lunch provided, and two evening crop sessions are planned across the weekend. The final day is devoted to classes. Throughout the event there are multiple make and take opportunities, creative contests, and a chance to meet the owners, designers, and instructors. Expect generous giveaways at each crop party and numerous prize drawings, with thousands of dollars in prizes awarded per event. The cost is $359, with a $50 deposit option and payment plans available.

Breakfast and Bullets

Enjoy a range session at PSGC, Palm Springs Gun Club, followed by breakfast. Participants may bring one handgun only, along with a holster setup and 200 rounds of ammunition. Required attire includes a billed ball cap, electronic hearing protection, and safety glasses, with prescription lenses acceptable. Wear a T-shirt without a V-neck and long pants with belt loops, or shorts that fully cover the thighs, plus athletic shoes or hiking boots. Those who do not yet have their own firearm should arrange this in advance. Range fees are $15 for members and $20 for non-members, and event ammunition is available at $15 per box of 50 rounds. Breakfast follows the range portion.

6th Annual DOGust Birthday Bash + BINGO

Animal Samaritans marks the sixth year of its DOGust birthday celebration with BINGO at the Sky Ballroom at Kimpton Rowan Palm Springs. DOGust recognizes the official birthday month for shelter dogs, and this gathering focuses on food, games, prizes, and giving back to benefit homeless dogs and puppies in Animal Samaritans’ care. Guests can enjoy lunch with wine, take part in multiple rounds of BINGO for prizes with one card provided per game, and receive dog themed gifts for every guest. Attendees can also meet adoptable puppies, with BINGO entertainment hosted by Sister Burna.
