C.S. Lewis' The Screwtape Letters
Step into a sleek infernal office where a calculating demon wages a campaign for a human soul. This theatrical retelling of C. S. Lewis’s The Screwtape Letters presents spiritual conflict from a demon’s perspective, turning moral expectations upside down as Screwtape schemes to ruin an unsuspecting life. Adapted from the classic by the creator of The Chronicles of Narnia, the production has earned praise from The Wall Street Journal, Newsweek, The New York Times, and Christianity Today. FPA founder and artistic director Max McLean directs a show that has filled theaters in major U.S. cities and in London, reaching more than 500,000 attendees and building a national following. The performance runs 90 minutes with no intermission. It is recommended for ages 13 and older, and children under 4 are not admitted. A question and answer session follows the performance and is open to all attendees. Audience members under 30 can receive a $30 discount by showing ID at the box office. Group savings are available for parties of 10 or more at groups@fpatheatre.com. Tickets are subject to service and handling fees, and there are no refunds or exchanges. There are only two performances.

Formed in 1968 by Danny Hutton, they made their mark by championing writers like Harry Nilsson, Randy Newman, Elton John, Laura Nyro, Paul Williams, and Hoyt Axton, resulting in seven platinum singles and twelve straight RIAA gold albums. The numbers reach into the tens of millions of records sold worldwide, with songs that crossed pop, rock, R&B, and country charts. After nearly 3,000 performances, including appearances at two Super Bowls, the group still tours extensively with more than 90 shows each year. Nominated for both Emmy and Grammy awards, he is a world-recognized comedian who has also built a career as a director, writer, producer and actor. His eighth hour, Bill Burr: Drop Dead Years, premiered on Hulu and received two Emmy nominations, and the companion streaming album earned his second Grammy nomination. He wrote, directed and starred in Old Dads, which became the most-watched film on Netflix in its first and second week. He has hosted Saturday Night Live twice and hosts the Monday Morning Podcast. On stage and on screen he has earned acclaim, from a Broadway turn in David Mamet’s Glengarry Glen Ross with Kieran Culkin and Bob Odenkirk, to upcoming roles including Aaron Sorkin’s The Social Reckoning with Jeremy Allen White, Mikey Madison and Jeremy Strong. He is also set to direct, co-write, produce and star in Born Losers. He has achieved notable firsts by performing at the Odeon of Herodes Atticus in Athens, Greece, and at Fenway Park. This performance will be phone free. Upon arrival, phones, smart watches and similar accessories will be secured in individual Yondr pouches that remain with each guest and are opened at the end of the show. Devices may be used only in designated Phone Use Areas inside the venue and must be re-secured before returning to the performance space. 7 Summers Morgan Wallen Tribute returns to Crawdads on the Lake for a make up show, bringing its national touring salute to Morgan Wallen back to the stage in Folsom. Billed as a leading Morgan Wallen tribute act, the band performs under an exclusive arrangement with Crawdads on the Lake, making this the only venue in the Sacramento region presenting the group. Concerts at Crawdads follow a festival style format, with patio seating available on a first come basis. The event is open to all ages. Dinner reservations are highly recommended, and purchasing tickets does not guarantee dinner seating.
2026 Youth Football Skills Camp
Young athletes entering grades 2 through 8 can take the field at Vista del Lago High School for a high-energy football skills camp led by the school’s Varsity coaches and players. Participants build fundamentals and confidence through interactive offense and defense drills, with instruction that is non-contact and emphasizes safe, proper tackling technique. The experience includes lunch in the Varsity locker room and a behind-the-scenes tour of the high school’s football and training facilities. Each camper receives lunch and a camp T-shirt. No pads or helmets are required, just enthusiasm for the game. Cost is $85 per athlete.

Juggers Tryouts and Team Practice
Northern California’s Blue Team is hosting league tryouts and team practice in Citrus Heights near Sacramento at Rusch Community Park. The Juggers of the Wasteland are welcoming athletes and support crew who want to petition the League. Participants will be evaluated on conditioning, teamwork, discipline, situational awareness, and determination. Training continues in all kinds of weather, including rain, heat, and wind, so come ready for a demanding workout. A COVID vaccination is required. Bring water and sturdy athletic shoes or boots with ankle support. A protective cup and a mouth guard are encouraged. Equipment and armor guidelines can be discussed at practice and within the Jugger Tryouts group. Those interested can RSVP by messaging the organizers or marking themselves as going on the event post. Additional Northern California practices are planned, with more potentially added based on availability. Newer players can also look for the Jugger Youngblood group.

Aspiring artists ages 9 to 12 can immerse themselves in anime character design during a five-day camp focused on building original characters from concept to completion. Guided by teaching artist Maddy Harlow, participants explore the essentials of character creation, including emotion, expression, and visual storytelling, and expand on skills they may already have from previous drawing or anime classes. Each student uses an iPad Pro with an Apple pen and professional programs, with all materials and instruction included in registration. Basic experience with digital art or similar software is required, and the camp is not open to students under age 9. By the end of the session, everyone assembles a professional-level portfolio to take home. Cuban-Dominican comedian, actor, and writer Marcello Hernández brings an evening of lively stand-up to The Venue at Thunder Valley. Recognized as Saturday Night Live’s first Gen Z cast member and the creator of the popular Domingo character, he has been performing stand-up since he was 18 and has toured nationwide to strong acclaim. This performance follows a strict phone-free policy. Upon arrival, phones, smartwatches, and similar accessories will be placed in individual Yondr pouches that remain with guests and are unlocked after the event.
