Tuesdays in the Plaza: Burrows and Dilbeck
Tuesdays in the Plaza brings a weekly summertime mix of live music to Healdsburg Plaza, curated to appeal to many tastes. This installment features Burrows and Dilbeck, a funk, rock, and soul pairing led by vocalist and pianist Spencer Burrows with guitarist and recording engineer Kris Dilbeck. Both are from Sonoma County and first connected in 2002 while collaborating on recording projects at Berklee College of Music in Boston, later returning home to launch a series of bands together. Their early project, FunKtion with Dane Lundy and Aaron Haggerty, recorded original material and gave a single performance before winding down. The duo then created Spencer B and the FSDs with Emily Froberg and Cory Stück, which evolved into Frobeck in 2005. Over the next few years Frobeck recorded three original albums, won the Mystic Theater battle of the bands, and was named Best of the North Bay. In 2010 the group grew to include a horn section with Alex Scammon, Alex Garcia, and Cayce Carnahan, along with backing vocalist Callie Watts. Food vendors open before the music begins, offering locally sourced bites from Tacos Don Tacos, Healdsburger, Chef Degen, Lola's Market, and Pacheco Roasted Corn. Hosted by the City of Healdsburg Community Services, this concert also celebrates National Night Out, a community-building initiative that strengthens partnerships between neighbors and local law enforcement.
