At the Connecticut Convention Center, the 5th Annual No Hair Left Behind brings together community members, families, volunteers, service providers, and leaders for a barber-led resource fair that ranks among Hartford’s largest. Nonprofits, healthcare providers, workforce development programs, educational institutions, faith-based groups, government agencies, and other community partners are invited to participate. Organizations can secure a resource table, highlight programs and services, recruit volunteers and engage participants, connect with the community face to face, and explore sponsorship and collaboration opportunities. Planning deadlines are approaching, and the focus is on collective service with everyone at the table so no one is left behind.

Explore a signature Hartford landmark in Bushnell Park, the Soldiers and Sailors Memorial Arch, which commemorates 4,000 local residents who served in the Civil War. Volunteer guides provide free, informal tours that cover the Arch’s history, its design and construction, and the symbolism in its carvings and sculptures. Tours are brief and require no advance registration. Those with only a little time can skip the tour and climb 96 steps to the top for views of the park and the State Capitol. If the forecast is uncertain, the organizers share cancellation updates on their website. Street parking is available around the park, and payment at the kiosk is required.

At the New Britain VFW, the Hard Hittin’ Card Show Friday Night Edition brings more than 70 vendor tables showcasing sports cards, Pokémon and other trading card games, a mix of new and vintage items, memorabilia, Funko figures, toys, and more. Admission is $5 at the door, and children 12 and under are admitted free.

At Dunkin' Park, the Yard Goats take on the Phillies affiliate, with a fireworks show and a concert after the final out. The first 1,000 fans to enter will receive a Goat Horn Bucket Hat. The event is presented by the University of Saint Joseph.
