Created by a young artist living with cancer, this exhibition centers on artwork by children navigating cancer. It celebrates creativity as a source of comfort and resilience, and highlights how sharing art can uplift both the maker and the viewer. Families are invited to contribute their child’s pieces and the stories behind them to help shape a meaningful showcase of many voices and experiences.

Explore a signature Hartford landmark in Bushnell Park, the Soldiers and Sailors Memorial Arch, which commemorates 4,000 local residents who served in the Civil War. Volunteer guides provide free, informal tours that cover the Arch’s history, its design and construction, and the symbolism in its carvings and sculptures. Tours are brief and require no advance registration. Those with only a little time can skip the tour and climb 96 steps to the top for views of the park and the State Capitol. If the forecast is uncertain, the organizers share cancellation updates on their website. Street parking is available around the park, and payment at the kiosk is required.

At Dunkin' Park, the Yard Goats take on the Phillies affiliate, with a fireworks show and a concert after the final out. The first 1,000 fans to enter will receive a Goat Horn Bucket Hat. The event is presented by the University of Saint Joseph.
