The ensemble features RF on baritone and tenor saxophones and bass clarinet, Doug Michels on trumpet, Kai Sanchez on bass guitar, Christian Davis on guitar, Pete Wallace on keyboards, Edwin Bonilla on percussion, Aaron Glueckauf on drums, Jason Arkins on alto saxophone and flutes, and Allie Biancoviso on trombone. RF, also known as Ro, grew up in Brooklyn and received her first tenor saxophone from the late James Moody when she was young. After relocating to South Florida, she earned a degree in audio engineering before turning her focus to performing, working with artists such as Jennifer Hudson, Camila Cabello, and Vanessa Williams. She also teaches audio production at Florida Memorial University, an HBCU. Trumpeter Doug Michels was born in Brooklyn and raised on Long Island, then moved to Miami to continue his music studies and became active in the salsa scene with Celia Cruz, Gilberto Santa Rosa, Tito Puente, and others. That path led him to Gloria Estefan and the Miami Sound Machine, where he remains a member, and his recording credits include Jennifer Lopez and Flo Rida. Away from the stage he enjoys working on classic cars.

    Crazy Uncle Mikes hosts Days Between, a Jerry Garcia celebration featuring Unlimited Devotion, also known as UD. Formed in Miami in 2012 to explore the Grateful Dead songbook, the band has grown a devoted following while evolving its lineup and sound to reflect jazz and funk influences. Now based in both the Tampa and St. Petersburg area as well as Miami, this quintet is known throughout Florida for energized, exploratory performances rooted in improvisation. In 2018 the group produced and performed the Dead & Company pre-concert and after party on Orlando’s Church Street, with city officials estimating crowds of about 5,000 and 7,000, a milestone noted as the largest block party in the city and a moment that drew national attention. That same year Miami New Times named Unlimited Devotion among the four most influential jam bands in Florida, alongside Roosevelt Collier, The Heavy Pets, and Snarky Puppy. This celebration honors Garcia’s legacy with the inventive spirit and seasoned musicianship that define the band.
