Shephard's Tiki Beach Bar & GrillSALE || HALF PRICE || Soapmaking Workshop
This hands-on soapmaking workshop focuses on crafting natural soap with clear, step-by-step guidance at a special price. The session runs about two hours and costs $69, reduced from $135. A $25 deposit is required to hold a spot. Participation is limited to 10 people on a first come, first serve basis, and attendees must be 21 or older. Everyone makes a full loaf to take home, yielding about four to five bars, roughly one pound of soap that can last for months. Handmade soap also makes practical, low-waste gifts. Instruction covers lye safety, working with natural fats and oils, essential oils and lye, and using the proper tools and equipment. Safety eyewear, gloves and an apron are provided. The workshop also explores the history of soap and how to recognize a high-quality bar, and it includes three simple recipes with detailed directions plus helpful resources for making more at home. While the batch cooks there will be a talk on historical techniques, including the oldest known soap and an example associated with Nefretiti, with a bar shown for reference. The curriculum underscores why product quality matters for skin, noting that what goes on the skin can be absorbed and circulate through the body. Because lye is involved, participants should be fully alert and come dressed in closed-toe shoes, a long-sleeve shirt and long pants. The session is led by Ginger, who has been making soap for 10 years. Her storefront, SoapBox, began in Philadelphia in 2013 and earned the Best of Philly award twice. She handcrafts soaps, skin care products and cleaning supplies using only natural ingredients such as oils, fats, butters, flowers, herbs, spices, salts, clays, seeds and essential oils. A self-taught maker with no formal chemistry background, she emphasizes a less is more approach to skin care and credits motherhood as a key motivation for healthy living.

Safety Harbor MarinaKiller Queen – A Tribute to Queen
Returning to the historic Bilheimer Capitol Theatre, this acclaimed tribute brings Queen’s music to the stage. Formed in June 1993, Killer Queen began with university shows in London, mirroring how the original band first got started 21 years earlier. Momentum built quickly, and by 1995 they held a residency at the Strand Theatre in London’s West End with nationwide BBC coverage, marking a first for a tribute act. Lead singer Patrick Myers has described a path that started as a short-lived idea and grew into performances in many of the same arenas Queen once played. After touring Europe and Russia in 1999, the group received an honor recognizing them as the best tribute band worldwide at a Leicester Square ceremony hosted by Suggs of Madness. In 2001 they reached number one by recreating Queen’s harmonies for The Real Life with Fatboy Slim, and their audience kept expanding. Highlights include a 2005 appearance at Ahoy Stadium, followed in 2006 by a Waverley Stadium show in Edinburgh with Bjorn Again and The Bootleg Beatles. That performance led to representing Queen in a re-staged Live Aid organized by Sir Bob Geldof, plus an arena charity concert with him supporting people experiencing homelessness. In 2009 they returned to a sold out Ahoy with their Queen Spectacular production and were named Best Concert of the Year 2009 by Sweden’s Vasteras concert hall. The band later focused on the United States, adding Colorado’s Red Rocks Arena to their regular sell out stops. Recent years brought arena shows across Europe in 2023, including Stavangar in Norway and UK dates in Cardiff, Nottingham, Aberdeen, Glasgow and Leeds. In 2024 they completed an arena tour of Lithuania, played UK arenas in Liverpool and Newcastle, and added more sell out appearances at Red Rocks and Austin City Limits. This performance presents Queen’s songs delivered by a seasoned tribute with decades of international touring and recognition.

Black on the Beach 5 w/ TBBL and EVOLVE
At Archibald Memorial Beach Park, Tampa Bay Black Lesbians teams up with Evolve Tampa Bay for a community beach day that kicks off Pride with Black and queer joy at the center. Families are welcome, and the day is open to all identities. There are no tickets, no fees, and no special requirements. Attendees can bring flags, shade, beach gear, snacks, a cooler, and an umbrella to relax by the water. Now in its fifth year, this gathering also reflects on history. Not long ago, many Black Floridians were denied access to pools and beaches, and communities organized wade-ins to challenge segregation. Coming together at the shoreline during Pride honors intersectionality and the freedom to live authentically. Parking notes: the park has a two-sided lot with hourly payment through ParkMobile. Private lots across the street are typically more expensive, so city lots on the waterside may be a better option if the park lots are full. Home base is the pavilion.

When she leaves without telling anyone, her daughter Leanne teams up with her own daughter, Nora, who is about to become one of Yale’s first female undergraduates. The Salty Soul Foundation brings its monthly beach cleanup back to the Dunedin Causeway, focusing on caring for the shoreline and removing litter. Since 2017, the team and volunteers have cleared more than 33,000 pounds of trash from beaches in Florida and California, and this effort continues that work one piece at a time. All supplies will be ready on arrival, including gloves, buckets, and trash bags, so participants only need enthusiasm and sun protection. Co-hosting organizations from the Tampa Bay area will be there, offering opportunities to connect with local environmental advocates. Salty Soul merchandise will be available for purchase, with proceeds supporting cleanup costs and advertising fees. The gathering also features a celebration of Hunu’s Journey, the children’s book by co-founders John and Mary, with a moment to acknowledge its growing influence on future ocean stewards.
