Complimentary sports EKG screenings are available for children, adolescents, and young adults ages 10 to 21 through Joe DiMaggio Children’s Hospital in collaboration with Who We Play For. An EKG for pediatric patients can help identify potential heart concerns in active youth and student athletes. The screening is noninvasive and painless, using small sensors on the chest to record the heart’s electrical activity. Group screenings can be arranged for schools, sports teams, or community organizations. Individual exams are also offered by appointment at community cardiology offices through the Heart Institute at 954-276-2000.

Cacao, sound, and somatic practices come together in a small-group journey guided by Amy Shine at YOUniversal Yoga. This 2.5 hour session invites participants to slow down, settle into the body, and restore. The experience weaves ceremonial cacao, aromatic oils, breathwork, gentle movement, a 75 minute lying-down sound immersion, and supportive hands-on somatic energy touch. It begins with an intention-setting cacao circle, moves into a relaxed somatic drop-in with aromatherapy and soft breathing, then unfolds into the extended sound journey as brainwave patterns shift and the body softens. Gentle, intentional touch is offered throughout to deepen the process. No prior experience is needed, and each gathering is unique. Ceremonial cacao is a traditional Mayan preparation made from whole cacao beans without common chocolate additives. It is not psychoactive and can support an uplifted mood, clearer thinking, a stronger body connection, and an open, receptive state for inner work. Drinking cacao is optional. Therapeutic Fitness (Corrective Exercise and Stretch Class)

Long hours at a desk can leave the body tight and sore. Therapeutic Fitness, created by Posture Police, targets discomfort in the neck, back, and shoulders by blending yoga principles with physical therapy techniques. The session features mostly standing stretches and corrective movements using a Corrective Cane and a chair. A mat is not necessary since there is no floor work. It is well suited for people dealing with neck, back, or shoulder issues, and for anyone aiming to improve flexibility, mobility, and body awareness to help prevent pain. Registration is required. Movie in the Park | Free Admission & Kid Activities

Enjoy a free outdoor screening of Zootopia 2 at Tamarac Sports Complex. Before the film, look for lawn games, music, and family-friendly activities for all ages, then settle in on the grass as the evening sky changes color. Blankets and lawn chairs are welcome, and coolers are allowed. Pets are not permitted. City of sunrise Tunes’ N Trucks concert series

Top Step Kidz offers a balance bike learn-to-ride program at Markham Park that helps children master cycling by focusing on stability and control before adding pedals. Instead of using training wheels, riders develop real balance, which often leads to a faster, more confident transition to a pedal bike with less frustration. The program follows a simple, step-by-step approach in small groups so each child receives personal attention. All bikes and helmets are provided. The series includes five 30-minute sessions and is available as a full package for $150 or by the class for $35. Broward Regional Main Event & Cons Game Shootout

The Broward Main Event and Cons Game Shootout offers more than $2,500 in prizes and a friendly atmosphere for poker enthusiasts. Players who finished in the top 10 at any venue with at least 300 points qualify for the Main Event. Participants from Palm Beach County, the Treasure Coast, or other regions without their own Regional are also eligible. The Cons Game Shootout requires no qualification and is open to everyone. Preregistration provides 500 bonus chips. Extra starting chips are available for Barleaders, players who placed in the top 10 at three venues, the top 20 in Broward County, and the top 20 nationally. Chip ups are offered for BIG Gear and for food or drink. Expect a day focused on poker, friendly competition, and plenty of fun.

Saturday Long Runs 2026

Start from the Walmart parking lot near the Starbucks for a 4.5 mile run, with the option to go farther. A club cooler with water and Gatorade will be available, and the vibe is social so there is plenty of opportunity to chat while you run. Participants may bring a friend and meet other runners. Kids Bowl Free All Summer

Kids can bowl free all summer at Bowlero in Tamarac, with two free games available every day. This family-friendly activity offers an easy way to spend time together and make lasting memories at no cost. The program is available at more than 1,300 locations, and over 40 million families have made it a summertime tradition.

Texas Hold'em

RNR Poker League hosts a free-to-play Texas Hold'em night at Bob G’s Wings N Things. The venue offers wings and pub favorites in a casual setting with plenty of TVs showing sports. Look for rotating craft brews and tasty bites, friendly professional dealers with tips appreciated, and opportunities to earn league points and prizes. Dog Expo

The annual Coconut Creek Dog Expo returns to Windmill Park with a cheerful gathering of pet-themed vendors and services, activities for all ages, and an easygoing outing for people and their pups. Admission is free and no preregistration is required. Dogs must remain on leash, vaccinations should be current, and owners need to stay with their pets throughout the event. Try Ball Hockey For Free | Florida Panthers Partnership

Enjoy a welcoming, no-pressure introduction to ball hockey at Tamarac Multipurpose Center in partnership with the Florida Panthers. This free clinic is intended for first-time players with no prior organized ball hockey or ice hockey experience, and participation in the Panthers Learn To Play introductory ice hockey program does not make you ineligible. Three sessions are offered to suit different participants, including co-ed groups for ages 5 to 8 and 9 to 14, plus a girls-only session open to all ages.

Coral Springs Card Show - May 2-3, 2026

Reign Volleyball Club hosts a full weekend focused on buying, selling, trading, and collecting. Annual Scholarship Golf Tournament & Lucheon

Hosted by the Florida A&M University National Alumni Association Broward County Chapter at Colony West Golf Club, this annual scholarship golf tournament and luncheon brings together alumni, supporters, community leaders, and partners for a purposeful day on the course. Soccer Tournament

An all-day 7v7 soccer tournament brings teams together at Tradewinds Park Fields. Two divisions are planned, Coed Rec and Men’s, with the Men’s bracket dependent on enough teams. Every team is guaranteed three games with referees, and leading teams move on to the finals. Prizes go to the winners, and squads can compete for bragging rights or simply play for the love of the game.

EADR @ Homes Fur Dogs Expo

The Homes Fur Dogs Expo at Barkland Dog Park is a free community event focused on pet wellness, responsible pet ownership, and adoption. Attendees can visit the Everglades Angels Dog Rescue booth to learn about the organization and ways to support its mission. Flynn's May 23rd TCG League Cup

Compete in a TCG League Cup featuring Standard format play with rewards for everyone who enters. The entry fee is $20, and prize distribution scales with attendance. Top finishers in each age division receive exclusive Champion playmats. Registration is required, and a decklist must be turned in by the close of registration to avoid a round one loss. Decklists are mandatory and must be submitted on paper, either handwritten or printed, and email submissions are not accepted. Blank decklist forms and pens will be available during registration. Round counts vary with turnout. Masters typically play five or six rounds, while Seniors and Juniors play three. Swiss play is followed by a Top Cut, and both stages include an additional three turns at the end of each round. After Swiss concludes there will be a mandatory break for players and staff, and if every player in Top Cut agrees an additional break may be added.

On school break days during the academic year, Fitwize 4 Kids runs single-day and weeklong camps that help take the stress out of holiday schedules. Campers spend the day building friendships, trying hands-on crafts, exploring science activities, and staying active with sports and games. Walk In My Shoes Children’s Mental Health Awareness 5K Run/Walk & Community Resource Fair

A community-focused 5K run and walk paired with a robust resource fair highlights children’s mental health, encouraging open conversation, reducing stigma, and connecting families with helpful services. Now in its ninth year, the morning features a welcoming, family-friendly atmosphere where participants of all fitness levels can complete a 5K, learn from local organizations and health and wellness vendors, enjoy music, and make meaningful connections with groups that support youth and families. The event speaks to the real challenges many young people face, including anxiety, depression, trauma, and stress, and helps caregivers discover where to turn for support. It is presented by Change Me Foundation, an organization dedicated to education, advocacy, and empowerment through community programs, youth initiatives, and mental health advocacy. Founded by community advocate Jarvis Brunson, the foundation continues to champion efforts that uplift youth and address issues that matter to families.

Picnic - Markham Park

Vice City Riders plan a relaxed picnic at Markham Park, gathering at Shelter #3 for a day of easygoing time outdoors. The format is bring-your-own, with participants supplying their own food or items for the grill, beverages, and casual games or activities. Arrive by motorcycle, car, or whatever works best. After the ride, anyone who wishes may make a small, optional contribution to the VCR St. Jude fundraiser. Everyone is asked to keep the environment respectful by avoiding politics, religion, orientation topics, and any form of discrimination, focusing instead on a shared love of the open road. Participation is voluntary, and each rider is responsible for personal safety, choices, and following all traffic laws. Game & Mobile App Development Camp

A camp focused on coding, app design, and game creation for kids and tweens. Each day begins with arrival and a welcome, features a mid-morning snack, a lunch break, and an afternoon snack, and concludes with departure. In the morning, ages 5 to 7 explore Robotical Cog, using lights, sounds, and sensors to animate robots while learning the foundations of coding through playful, hands-on projects such as interactive stories, beginner games, and illuminated robot builds.
