Find Your Voice: Contemporary Monologue Workshop

Tampa · Carrollwood Players Theatre, 4333 Gunn Hwy

Ages 15 and up can build confidence and elevate audition material in a four-week contemporary monologue workshop. Guided by award-winning actor, playwright, and director Marc S. Sanders, each participant selects a dramatic or comedic piece and develops it into a refined performance through individualized coaching and hands-on practice. Over the course of the program, participants learn to choose material that fits their age and type, analyze text to uncover character, objectives, and motivation, create authentic emotional connections, strengthen voice, movement, and stage presence, improve memorization and audition techniques, and exchange constructive feedback in a supportive setting. There is time between meetings to rehearse and apply new skills. The series concludes with two showcase performances for an audience, offering valuable stage experience and a chance to present finished work. This program is free, but space is limited and advance registration is required. Consistent attendance is expected for all four sessions and both showcases, and missed commitments may result in removal from the program and could affect future audition opportunities with Carrollwood Players. Participants must provide their own monologue or script between three and five minutes, and no two performers may use the same selection. Marc S. Sanders will contact participants before the first class to review and approve selections, and scripts should be brought to the first meeting. Please note that some monologues may include mature language or themes. All sessions and showcases take place at Carrollwood Players Theatre.

It can be a supportive fit if you have been carrying a lot and need space to exhale, if you feel distant from your needs or inner clarity, if you are in a season of transition and want steadier footing, or if you want meaningful community without any pressure to overshare. You are welcome exactly as you are. Facilitation is led by Colette McLeod, a Licensed Therapist and facilitator who supports individuals and groups in reconnecting with themselves through grounded reflection, nervous system truth telling, and a blend of modern and ancient practices. Her approach centers sustainable change by honoring what is real without abandoning yourself in the process.

    Sawyer Hill

Tampa · New World, 810 E Skagway Ave

Aestheticized presents a night at New World Tampa in Tampa featuring Sawyer Hill with Never Ending Fall. Sawyer Hill got his start playing bar gigs as a teenager, slipping in through back doors to avoid getting carded, and later broke out with the single "Look at the Time." He has gone on to earn more than 130 million streams and close to a quarter billion video views, taking his music beyond Arkansas across the United States and Europe. Highlights include sold out shows at the Troubadour in Los Angeles and the Bowery Ballroom in New York City, along with an extensive run supporting Yungblud. Those miles on the road helped shape his album "Everybody’s Home, Nobody’s Happy." To sharpen its sound and storytelling, he collaborated in Los Angeles with Mike Crossey, Chris Greatti, and Ryan Linville. The record reflects a confident voice pulled between the lure of home and the urge to speak for loners and doubters, especially Southern kids told to keep their feelings to themselves. Never Ending Fall joins the bill for a night of live music in Tampa.
