Raised in Miami and inspired by Koko Taylor, Nina Simone, and Sam Cooke, Riggins began singing jazz and blues standards at 23 and built a career that has reached audiences across the U.S., Europe, Southeast Asia, and the Dutch Antilles. Highlights include national TV appearances in the Netherlands and sold-out theater dates on the Johan Derksen Keeps the Blues Alive tours in 2018 and 2019, followed by the Kings Of the Blues theater tour in 2025. Her releases include Blues Revival in 2016 and In the Boys’ Club in 2018. After joining Gulf Coast Records in 2020, she released Cry Out, earning a Blues Music Award nomination and two Independent Blues Awards. Progeny arrived in 2022 at number 13 on the Billboard Blues chart and received another BMA nomination. REVIVAL in 2024, created with drummer and producer Tim Mulberry, celebrates every shade of the blues and received a Soul Blues Album of the Year nomination from The Blues Foundation. She now counts eight Blues Music Award nominations, including five for Soul Blues Female Artist of the Year. Onstage with Riggins are Shakeim Fraser on lead guitar, Jose Figueroa on bass, Darrell Demonia on drums, Robert Bradley on keys, B3, and backing vocals, Carl Lewis on alto sax and backing vocals, Stephen Lombardelli on tenor sax, and Niles Blaize on trumpet, harmonica, and backing vocals. Together they deliver a fiery blend of blues, rock, gospel, and soul, moving from powerhouse anthems to tender ballads with a personal touch in every note.
