Parents are welcome to relax and observe from Minch Coffee Shop while the class is in progress.

Expect a welcoming setting with attention to group riding skills. Helmets are mandatory. This is not a race or a sanctioned activity, and all participants take part at their own risk. At Island Village Clubhouse, this hands-on stop-motion lab guides students from concept to screen. Participants outline a simple story, build sets, props, and characters, then photograph incremental movements to assemble a short animated clip. They examine how choices in timing, lighting, and camera angle shape what appears on screen. Core animation techniques are practiced, such as smooth motion, walk cycles, object movement, and simple effects like making items vanish, return, or glide across the scene. Practical filmmaking skills are emphasized as well, including steady camera setup, consistent lighting, and pacing to give the final piece a polished, purposeful look. The workshop welcomes all experience levels and fosters creativity, collaboration, and iteration, with space to test ideas, adjust, reshoot, and refine. It concludes with a mini screening where students share their films and discuss the design decisions behind their motion and storytelling. Lunch is included. Cost is $90.00.
