This Friday sunrise session offers a gentle, centering flow on the sand behind the hotel, guided by Claudia Vasconcelos and accompanied by the sound of the ocean, soft light, and the quiet of early morning. Claudia has practiced meditation and yoga since 1998, is a certified massage therapist, and completed Clinical Ayurveda Specialist training at the California College of Ayurveda. She graduated from the 500 hour Teacher Training Program at the Iyengar Yoga Institute of San Francisco in 2006 and has taught ever since. In 2008 she traveled to India to study with B.K.S. Iyengar and his family, an experience that deepened her commitment to yoga as a lifelong path of awareness and devotion. She is also certified by Elise Browning Miller in Yoga for Scoliosis and Back Care, and holds a bachelor’s degree in Philosophy from Brazil. Her classes aim to leave participants feeling renewed and balanced in body, mind, and spirit, with practice rooted in attentive self awareness and mindful presence. The class lasts one hour and costs $15 per person.

Barber, a former member of the multiple Grammy Award winning ensemble Chanticleer and an eight-time Grammy nominee for his most recent solo album Reimagined: Mercury, has performed in 17 languages and appeared as a soloist at venues including the Metropolitan Opera, Carnegie Hall, London’s Queen Elizabeth Hall, and Moscow’s Svetlanov Hall. He has been praised by the Atlanta Journal-Constitution for star quality. Joining the cast are accomplished musicians Brandon Glick on piano, Rick Kissinger on multiple woodwinds, and Ian Wilkinson on violin, alongside additional talented local singers and instrumentalists. Florida performances also feature dancers from Preston Contemporary Dance Theatre. The production is framed by a replica backdrop of the Paris Opera House, the Palais Garnier, a nod to the storied setting of The Phantom of the Opera and its infamous chandelier incident over a century ago. The night concludes with a relaxing crystal sound bath that supports integration and calm. This gathering is designed for experienced ecstatic dancers who are ready to explore with sincerity and care. It is alcohol free, barefoot on the dance floor, and conversation is kept minimal there, with socializing in designated areas. This is not a pool party. Expressive attire is encouraged, and a swimsuit and towel are required, with a robe recommended. Poi and other flow props are welcome, as are fire spinners where appropriate. The private retreat setting includes a heated saltwater pool, an outdoor grass garden, a fire pit, and a chillout space. Capacity is limited, and the aquatic portion is capped at 16 participants. Tickets are sold in advance only, with no sales at the door, and events often reach capacity. At Aventura Arts & Cultural Center, Arts Ballet Theatre of Florida marks the close of its season with a program featuring company repertoire and a U.S. premiere. The performance begins with Yanis Pikieris’s Danzon, a neoclassical piece set to the rhythmic music of Arturo Marquez, followed by Vladimir Issaev’s La Traviata Pas de Deux and his Shostakovich Suites. Guest choreographer Alberto Mendez presents Tarde en la Siesta in collaboration with Issaev.
