Mass-Conn-Fusion features musicians from both Massachusetts and Connecticut, reflecting roots that trace to the University of Connecticut where bassist James Healy founded the group. Originally called Conn-Fusion, the band took on its current name after extensive performing in Massachusetts with players from both states. The setlist spans Motown, R&B, and funk, along with songs from the 1960s through today, performed by a full lineup that includes female lead vocalists, horns, and a solid rhythm section. The group has been active for more than four decades. Part of Pensacola Beach’s free outdoor summer concert series organized by the Santa Rosa Island Authority, this event takes place at the Gulfside Pavilion at Casino Beach, set along the Gulf of Mexico.
