Ferry Park Disc Golf Course hosts The Global, a single-day PDGA-sanctioned C-Tier that connects local play to a worldwide leaderboard and a shared mission to expand access to the sport. Entry supports the Paul McBeth Foundation and its work creating sustainable disc golf opportunities in underserved communities. The event is presented in partnership with the Professional Disc Golf Association, with additional support from Dynamic Discs, Discraft, Disc Golf Pins, Brixton, and Soar Disc Golf.
The format features two rounds with a shotgun start. In round one, MPO, FPO, MA40, MA50, MA1, FA1, MA2, MJ18, FJ18, and MJ15 compete from the Short Pad to the Long Basket. FA40, FA50, MA60, FA60, MA70, FA70, FA2, MA3, FA3, MA4, FA4, FJ15, MJ12, FJ12, MJ10, FJ10, MJ08, and FJ08 play from the Short Pad to the Short Basket. In round two, MPO, FPO, MA40, MA50, MA1, FA1, and MA2 move to the Long Pad to the Long Basket. FA40, FA50, MA60, FA2, and MA3 play Short Pad to Long Basket. FA60, MA70, FA70, FA3, MA4, FA4, FJ15, MJ12, FJ12, MJ10, FJ10, MJ08, and FJ08 play Short Pad to Short Basket.
Amateur players receive a pack valued at over $80 that includes two premium custom-stamped discs from Dynamic Discs and Discraft, a The Global pin, a commemorative Brixton disc golf card, a full-color Duo towel from Soar Disc Golf, Paul McBeth Foundation stickers, and a built-in donation to the foundation. Professional entries allocate $35 to payouts, $8 to event expenses, and $7 to the Paul McBeth Foundation.
Competitors take part in a professionally managed PDGA event and appear on a global leaderboard hosted on the PDGA site. Custom trophies will be mailed to the top ten finishers worldwide in each division. Thousands of players will be competing around the globe on the same day, creating a unified tournament experience with local character. Course-specific layout details will be shared soon.
