Led by Laura with the FUN Florida Ukulele Network, this edition features The Rock and Roll Review, highlighting songs from the 1950s through the 1980s for group strumming and singing. Chords and lyrics are projected so everyone can follow along. All skill levels are welcome to play a ukulele or another acoustic instrument, lend a voice, or simply enjoy the live music. This Finding Nemo KIDS production is performed by campers ages 6 to 9 from the Performance Project and Broward Center Summer Camp, presented at the Amaturo Theater at the Broward Center for the Performing Arts as part of the FAB Grantee Program. Young SEEDs in the Park is a free 2.5 hour course designed for children ages 5 to 12. An RSVP through Eventbrite is required to attend. Participants learn about nutrition, wellness, and the power of choice, exploring how their decisions can support their own health and the well-being of the planet. The program features hands-on gardening, food demonstrations and education, yoga and movement, breathwork, mindfulness practices, art, and more. During the food demonstrations, educators introduce new vegetables to broaden palates and encourage healthy eating. In the garden, children get their hands dirty with activities like planting and mulching. Movement is built into the day, followed by time to settle in for art and inspiration. Attendance at monthly meetings is encouraged, with fresh activities created for each workshop.
