Empowerment of Hope is presenting a family friendly summer pep rally at The Soda Lab, inviting the community to help gather back-to-school clothing and supplies that will be distributed completely free. While the organization's mission centers on supporting women through clothing, this drive expands to meet back-to-school needs for teens and adults as well. Donations are welcome leading up to the event. Requested items include adult-sized apparel suitable for teens and adults, such as women's clothing in all styles and sizes, unisex tees, collegiate gear, local high school spirit wear and logo items, sneakers for teens and adults, along with school supplies. Outgrown or unworn pieces can be passed along to new homes to keep confidence and school spirit going strong. Activities include a decorate-your-jeans station with paint and materials provided, featuring colors that represent local high schools. Participants may bring a favorite pair of jeans or select from a supply available on site. The Soda Lab will also offer a pep rally themed menu to match the festive atmosphere, and there will be small activities to keep kids engaged. The Soda Lab serves as an official drop-off location for clothing and school supply donations during normal business hours, and a closer drop-off point can be coordinated upon request.

Kyle Wade’s 30th birthday is being marked with a high-octane celebration as the Boosted Boiz present their first-ever event at America’s Automotive Theme Park. Expect drag racing on the 8th Street Dragstrip with open test-and-tune runs, a burnout showdown at Send It Square with cash prizes, and a 2-step engine rev competition at the same spot with more prizes up for grabs. Live music fills the Overdrive Amphitheater main stage, while family friendly fun continues in the Autotorium with cornhole, axe throwing, and ping pong. Admission includes access to a free-play arcade, and the Glow-Kart track offers indoor drift karting. Step into a market-style exhibition that celebrates the eerie and unusual, featuring oddities, art inspired by cult classic horror, wet specimens, local vendors, a food truck, and other curiosities. The brewery will also present an installation from August through the end of October, welcoming works that range from cult classics to oddity art and other macabre pieces. All submissions must arrive ready to hang or otherwise display, and each item should include a tag with a payment code at drop off.
