Timberlin Creek Elementary SchoolAdult Children of Alcholics - 12 Step Study Group - Yellow Book
This in-person, English-language Adult Children of Alcoholics and Dysfunctional Families meeting welcomes anyone seeking support for the long-term effects of growing up in a dysfunctional home. Through group discussion, participants work with the ACA Fellowship Text, also called the Yellow Book, to explore the Twelve Steps and share how past abuse, neglect, and trauma can influence relationships, self-worth, and daily life. The group offers a supportive, judgment-free setting to grieve childhood pain, examine family patterns, and address core trauma with the aim of easing shame and abandonment feelings while learning to lovingly reparent themselves. ACA literature also describes a set of common traits many adult children share, which can help guide reflection and growth. The meeting is held in the meeting room at CSL First City Teaching Chapter.
