Sunday Funday - All Ages Welcome! at AR Workshop

Enjoy a family-friendly DIY workshop where you will craft a personalized piece of home decor. Use a variety of tools and techniques and choose from an in-house selection of paints and non-toxic stains with guidance from the instructors. This two-hour experience starts at $39 for youth ages 6 and up and $59 for adults, with optional upgrades available. Each attendee must register individually for the workshop. SUMMER CAMP at the Tallahassee Museum - Secure Your Spot!

Camp registration is open at the Tallahassee Museum for a season of hands-on learning and fun. Led by museum educators, each day blends creativity, teamwork, problem solving, and communication with experiences that range from wildlife encounters to explorations of cultural heritage. Tree to Tree Adventures are woven into the curriculum for many ages. Families should register children for the grade they will enter in the upcoming school year. A preschool option welcomes ages 3 to 5 who are fully potty trained, including those headed into VPK or kindergarten. Registration is first come, first served and early sign-up is encouraged. Fees vary by grade level. Rising 1st and 2nd graders are $240 for members or $250 for nonmembers. Rising 3rd graders are $290 for members or $300 for nonmembers and enjoy field trips during the week. Rising 4th and 5th graders are $290 for members or $300 for nonmembers and also take part in field trips. The Jr. Counselor-in-Training option for rising 6th through 8th graders is $90 for members or $100 for nonmembers. Jr. CITs assist teachers while remaining campers and are supervised at all times. A Counselor-in-Training program is available for high school students in rising 9th through 12th grades. Extended care is offered for an additional $10 per day or $50 per week, and late pickups incur a $1 per minute charge. If a session is full, email registrations@tallahasseemuseum.org to request a place on the waiting list and include your camper’s name, your name, grade, preferred week, and a good email address. One schedule change is permitted in advance. Additional or late changes carry a $25 administrative fee, and incorrect registrations also incur a $25 fee. Ride Series: Munson Monday - 2 options!

Community volunteers lead a weekly intermediate, no-drop ride focused on a friendly group experience. Riders can choose between two options. One route covers about 22 miles, rolling out from the big oak by the Edison at Cascades Park and holding a steady 14 mph on pavement until the Munson trailhead, with the return left unpaced. The other route is roughly 8 miles from the Munson Trailhead parking area on fast red clay, with mixed speeds and frequent regrouping to keep everyone together. Everyone is welcome. Lights are required during daylight saving time. The 2025 TMBA waiver covers participants for the entire year and is required for all TMBA events.

Carol plans to step away from hosting Tally Wheel and intended to hand the role to Elva Starling, but a wave of comedians also wants the job, so a contest is on. Then Elva disappears. For $5, comedians deliver stand-up sets woven with clues in a Tally Wheel murder mystery comedy, letting the investigation unfold between punchlines as the search for Elva’s whereabouts becomes part of the show.

LeMoyne Arts showcases Funkadelic Visions, an immersive exhibition centered on the visual art of George Clinton and complemented by works from regional artists. Packed with vivid color and rhythmic energy, the collection translates the spirit of funk into imagery that bridges music, culture, and narrative. With support from Akbar Thomas, the gallery becomes a lively setting where artistic borders soften and creativity takes the lead. The exhibition features an opening celebration with live music by The Bay Kings Band, a specialty cocktail created for the occasion, and bar service. Another program, Muffins & Mothership Mimosas, offers Mothership mimosas, fresh baked goods from Uptown Cafe, and coffee from Argonaut Coffee in a relaxed atmosphere. Bartholomew Delcamp, the newly appointed chief curator at the Museum of Florida History, presents a talk about the influence of piracy in Florida from the 16th century onward. The program shares stories of notable figures including Henry Jennings, Charles Vane, and Samuel Bellamy, and explains that at the peak of activity roughly 5,000 pirates operated along Florida’s coasts. TMBA Wednesday Evening Dig

This TMBA volunteer dig session takes place at Lafayette Heritage Trail Park, with the group meeting at the Piney Z Skills Area. Led by Kyle Milbourn, the crew will begin shaping and refining the berms on Fleetwood as part of a broader series of planned trail upgrades, with more improvements on the way. Wear clothes you do not mind getting dirty, apply tick repellent and sunscreen, and bring water and easy-to-carry snacks, a hydration pack works well. An annual TMBA waiver is required for all participants, so please complete it if you have not done so this year. After the work wraps up, a casual social is planned at Ology Powermill.

Wednesday New Works Night

A weekly creative development gathering welcomes writers, playwrights, actors, and anyone exploring new work. It starts with a quiet session for focused writing and creative projects in a supportive setting, where participants can bring a laptop, notebook, script, manuscript, poetry, or prose. The session then shifts to informal cold readings of new material created or developed by attendees, with actors reading scenes, monologues, and other performance-focused pieces. Writers who participate in the writing block may sign up at the start for readings, first come, first served, with up to five pieces and brief excerpts. Taking part in readings is optional. Actors are encouraged to attend the reading portion with no preparation needed and may be asked to read selections provided by the writers present. The atmosphere is low pressure and collaborative, with special emphasis on playwriting and work intended for performance. This event takes place at the Student Services Building (SSB).

FSU students, community members, and experienced business leaders come together for a mentoring and networking session focused on helping entrepreneurs move their ventures forward. Participants briefly introduce what they are building, highlight their top three business challenges, and receive targeted feedback, guidance, and actionable next steps from mentors. Sue Boyd’s Country Western and More dance instruction is offered at American Legion Sauls-Bridges Post 13 with three skill levels available. The beginner class focuses on Two Step and East Coast Swing. The intermediate class highlights Cha Cha and Triple Two. The advanced segment features NC2 and is designed for experienced social dancers or competitors who are solid with rhythm, timing, connection, leading and following, and who are comfortable with multiple turns and more intricate leads without losing track of patterns or timing. Pricing is $8 for the beginner class, $8 for the intermediate class, or $13 when taking both beginner and intermediate together. Musicians can step up to play, hone their craft, or share what they know with others. A backline is available, so personal amplifiers are not required. Listeners are just as welcome to enjoy the music and encourage the performers, and the gathering has grown into a warm community of musicians and fans.

A League of Our Own Bowling

A summer bowling league at Capital Lanes invites participants to connect with others, have fun, and support a local cause. The league is open to everyone, with teams made up of four players, and individual bowlers will be placed on a team if needed. The cost is $10 per person each week for eight weeks, which comes to $80 per bowler or $320 per team, and three dollars from each weekly fee supports the Tallahassee Senior Center. Choose your cars on arrival, then once racing begins no new racers can be added. The entry is cash at $5 per car, you may race as many cars as you like, and the winner takes half of the total pot. Rip and runs will be available, or bring your own unmodified cars. Pick carefully, since some models may be too wide for the lanes or may not launch cleanly, and any car that fails to launch is an automatic loss. The focus is friendly competition and having fun. The swap portion is first come, first served with limited space and runs trunk or treat style from the back of vehicles. The TMBA Beginner Ride sets out from Lafayette Heritage Trail Park, also known as Piney Z. Riders of all experience levels are welcome, and the pace and format are geared toward those who are new to mountain biking. During the rainy months, rides may be canceled, so please check Facebook for any updates before heading out. A TMBA volunteer will ride at the back to help everyone reach each regroup stop. Participants can choose to extend the route or turn back early as needed. The focus is on learning the trails and building confidence on the bike. Please arrive with a bike in good working order. If a tune-up is needed, consider visiting The Great Bicycle Shop, Trek, or Epic Bikes. Helmets are required. Bring snacks and water, and consider bug spray and sunscreen. Plan to arrive early enough to get your gear ready so you can be prepared to roll at the start. To take part in TMBA activities, an annual liability waiver must be completed.

Ride Series: Munson Monday - 2 options!

Community volunteers lead a weekly intermediate, no-drop ride that brings riders together for a fun, supportive outing. Choose between two start options. The 22 mile route rolls out from the big oak by the Edison in Cascades Park and holds about a 14 mph pace on pavement until reaching the Munson trailhead, with an unpaced return. The 8 mile option departs from the Munson Trailhead parking area and zips along red clay that rides like a roller coaster... expect a range of speeds with frequent regrouping so nobody is left behind. All are welcome. During daylight saving time, lights are required. Participants are asked to complete the 2025 TMBA Waiver, which is required for all TMBA events.
