Golden Isles Belly Dance welcomes Lindsey Adkison for a five week summer yoga series focused on movement, strength, breath, and mindful flow. Sessions build warmth and mobility while clearing mental clutter, helping participants feel strong, open, and alive. The format supports beginners and returning practitioners alike who want to stay connected to their bodies and energy through the season. Lindsey’s background spans Tae Kwon Do and dance, followed by discovering yoga in 2006 at The Clouds on St. Simons Island. She earned teaching certification in 2013, completed a 200 hour training and apprenticeship at OmCore Yoga, and has taught locally for more than a decade. A dedicated Ashtanga practitioner, she has studied with Eddie Stern in New York City since 2017 to deepen her relationship with the Mysore tradition. Pricing includes an early bird rate of $65 and a regular rate of $80. Space is limited, and early registration is recommended.

A family friendly tradition enjoyed by generations welcomes runners to St. Simons Island for a 5k that winds through streets lined with live oaks and draped in Spanish moss. The event also features a 1 mile fun run and walk that follows the 5k and uses the same start and finish area at St Simons Park and Kings Park. The 5k is designated as the RRCA Georgia State 5k Championship, follows a USTAF certified course, and is led by RRCA certified race director Orrie McCrea. Chip timing is provided by Second Wind Timing. Entry includes a high quality short sleeve T-shirt in youth and adult sizes or an adult tank top. Vibes on Replay 80s vs 90s Paint Night

An 80s versus 90s themed paint and sip karaoke night fills Driftwood Wine & Cocktails with retro energy. Golden Isles Liberty Ride Poker Run

The inaugural Golden Isles Liberty Ride Poker Run raises funds for Golden Isles Veterans Village, which provides transitional housing, mental health services, job assistance, VA benefits support, and a supportive community for veterans rebuilding their lives. Participants will ride scenic routes through the Golden Isles and surrounding communities while taking part in a poker run with prizes, along with raffles, giveaways, food, drinks, and fellowship. A special guest rider, LTC Allen West (Ret.), is planned to participate. Additional details about registration, the ride route, sponsorship opportunities, and stop locations will be announced soon. Each mile helps support local veterans on their journey from homelessness to independence.

Historian Joseph S. Moore presents an author talk and book signing focused on his new release, How to Get Rich in American History: 300 Years of Financial Advice that Worked (& Didn't). KGIB Clean & Green Golf Tournament

Support local beautification through the Keep Golden Isles Beautiful Clean & Green Golf Tournament Fundraiser at Brunswick Country Club. The tournament features a four player scramble with a shotgun start. Registration includes breakfast before play, and lunch is provided after the round. Team entry is $600 for early registration and $700 for later registration, and a mulligan package is available for an additional $20 per player that includes five mulligans and a skirt per player. Registration is limited to the first 20 teams. Expect added fun with games at designated holes. Those not playing can support this 501c3 nonprofit by sponsoring a hole for $100 or a tent for $300, and all donations are tax deductible. Payment can be made online or in person.

Heads & Tails: Creative Creatures!

Instructor Linda Caldwell leads a three-session printmaking workshop focused on linoleum block printing. Participants learn core techniques and create an imaginative animal head and tail to print, trade, and share. All experience levels are welcome. The workshop begins with a short look at the history of linoleum block printing, hands-on practice making marks with V and U gouges with an emphasis on safety, and practical printing tips. Students then brainstorm and design their animal, transfer the drawing to linoleum blocks, and start carving. The next session centers on printing heads and tails and designing the front cover for a Heads and Tails book, with the practice block used for the back cover. The final session includes exchanging prints and assembling individual accordion books, which are provided. Block printing is an age-old printmaking method. An image is carved into a surface such as wood, linoleum, or rubber, inked, and pressed onto paper or fabric, and every impression has its own unique character. Cost: $195 for GVA members, $225 for non-members, plus a $40 materials fee.
