Northside Hospital Cancer Institute is offering free prostate and skin cancer screenings at its Radiation Oncology location at Preston Ridge in Alpharetta. The prostate screening uses a PSA blood test to assess risk and is intended for men ages 45 through 75 who have no history of prostate cancer and have not had a PSA test in the last 12 months. Rapid skin cancer screenings offer a quick, confidential check for adults 18 and older. Appointments are required; call 404-531-4444 to schedule. Jackson Chase brings a blend of country, blues, and rock that he calls Southern Soul and Rock & Roll to the Lou Sobh Amphitheater as part of the Summer Concert Series presented by The Providence Group. A native of Tuscaloosa, Alabama, he began singing at age three with family, then in church and school, and soon stepped onto talent show stages. At 12 he won first place at a national competition in Los Angeles after a local contest led him there, which set his focus on music and sparked his journey into guitar and songwriting. His influences include The Eagles, Merle Haggard, Chris Stapleton, Lynyrd Skynyrd, Elvis, and Glen Campbell, and his sound has been described as The Eagles meets Lynyrd Skynyrd. He has recorded with country legends like John Anderson, and has opened for Aaron Tippin, Sammy Kershaw, Collin Raye, Diamond Rio, T Graham Brown, Adam Hood, Drivin N Cryin and others. Since 2022 he has toured widely, playing more than 85 shows in his first nine months including Nashville’s Station Inn with Carl Jackson and Larry Cordle, earning Up N Country’s Stepping Up Award for best new artist of 2022, and surpassing 400 shows across the country from Orlando to Washington DC to Los Angeles. In July 2024 he signed with manager Allen Mitchell at Erv Woolsey Management. Admission and parking are free. A night of original music at Eddie Owen Presents pairs Atlanta native Avery Gipson with Nashville artist Carson Mac. Avery is an acclaimed singer and songwriter who often turns life’s difficult moments into vivid, relatable stories rooted in a strong sense of home. Her honors include winning the 49th bi-annual Songwriters Open Mic Shootout at Eddie’s Attic and receiving National Young Arts merit recognition three times in voice and songwriting. A graduate of the Belmont University songwriting program, she began performing in her mid-teens at venues like Eddie’s Attic and Hard Rock Cafe, opened for Communicant Band, and played festivals alongside Rayland Baxter. Her single Til Death Do Us Part has drawn about 120,000 streams, her writing has been cut by Corrina (Freight Train), Savannah (Say), and Elaina Christiana (Fool’s Gold), and her song Sit in Silence is planned as the closing track of a debut EP now in progress. Carson Mac charts a path from Kansas and North Carolina to Nashville while continuing to connect with audiences. He started opening shows at age ten for Montgomery Gentry and The Gin Blossoms, and has performed at Bonnaroo, The Listening Room, and the Bluebird Cafe. Recent highlights include a Whiskey Jam showcase, and he is set for the Opry stage. Offstage, he collaborates with hit songwriters, brings his guitar work to studio sessions, records his own music, and tours.

Backyard Pitmasters brings its nationally known BrisketU class to Variant Brewing, created to teach everyday enthusiasts how to run a pit and produce a standout smoked brisket, a cut many consider the most demanding. Suitable for first-timers and seasoned grillers, the session is led by accomplished pitmasters who cover the process from point to flat. 13th Annual Extra Mile 5K & 1 Mile Run/Walk

The Annandale Village 13th Annual Extra Mile 5K and 1 Mile Run/Walk at Suwanee Town Center raises vital funds for high quality services and compassionate care that help Annandale Villagers live meaningful, independent lives. Entry supports people with developmental disabilities or acquired brain injuries while advancing the mission to empower each Villager to achieve greater independence. Participants can choose a 5K or a 1 mile run or walk, and a virtual option is available for those who cannot attend in person. Set a personal best or chase a Boston qualifying time on a smooth one-mile loop in Johns Creek that favors even pacing and fast results. The full marathon is USATF certified, making it eligible as a Boston Qualifier, and the half marathon shares the same quick circuit for strong PR attempts. Pandora's Box - The Ultimate Aerosmith Tribute - at Lou Sobh Amphitheater

Pandora’s Box brings a high-energy celebration of Aerosmith to the Fall Concert Series at Lou Sobh Amphitheater, presented by The Providence Group. Formed in 2015 by Atlanta vocalist Nathan Utz and guitarist Steve Taylor, the group was created from a shared passion for the band’s music, with Utz known for a striking resemblance to Steven Tyler and comparable vocals. Their shows have packed venues across the Southeast, along the East Coast, and as far as Alaska and Hawaii. Admission and parking are free. Coolers, outside food, outside alcoholic beverages, cans, glass bottles, and smoking are not permitted. Friendly dogs on a leash are welcome. Bring your own lawn chairs or blankets for seating, but tents are not allowed. For the safety and comfort of all guests, please put away balls when the music begins, and do not throw or kick any objects during the performance.
