Music Bridges Borders presents a free community concert at the Jacklin Arts and Cultural Center featuring youth musicians from community orchestras of Baja North California, Mexico. Part of an annual binational cultural music exchange across the Spokane, Post Falls and Sandpoint areas, this event serves as the final community performance of their visit and highlights the connections that music builds across cultures. Holy Fire Reiki Soundbath

Experience a Holy Fire Reiki soundbath that begins with ten minutes of Qi Gong to get energy moving. Charged water is offered at the start. After the movement, participants lie down for a short guided meditation with Jennifer while Lynne plays soothing singing bowls. The session is intended to promote relaxation, decompression, and stress relief. Cost is $25 or donation, and no one is turned away.

Rathdrum Parks & Recreation and the Rathdrum Police Department present an Outdoor Movie in the Park at Stub Myers Park featuring Disney and Pixar’s Hoppers. The film follows Mabel, a nature enthusiast who uses cutting-edge science to shift her consciousness into a robotic beaver to safeguard a local habitat, blending humor and heart for all ages. This preschool focused edition of Stomp, Chomp, and Roar! Reading Hour is designed for ages 3 to 5 at the Coeur d’Alene Public Library. 58th Annual Art on the Green

Now in its 58th year, this summer arts tradition brings a lively showcase to the campus of North Idaho College. Explore work from more than 125 booth artists, enjoy free entertainment throughout the weekend, and sample a variety of food options. Families will find hands-on children’s activities, and adults can relax in the beer and wine garden. Highlights include a juried show and the Clothesline Art Sale, along with additional attractions across the grounds.

In the Garden: Alcohol Ink Floral Painting - Workshop 1

At Coeur d'Alene Public Library, local artist Denise Haskin leads a four week Alcohol Ink Floral Painting workshop designed for adults age 50 and older. Participants explore how dye based alcohol inks behave as the solvent evaporates quickly, leaving vivid, see through color that can be guided into flowing ripples, smooth gradients, and textured effects on a range of surfaces. Each session introduces new techniques and a distinct project, building skills from week to week, and participants are expected to attend the full series. Registration is required. This program is supported by a grant administered by the Idaho Commission for Libraries, with funding from the Idaho Commission for Libraries, the Institute of Museum and Library Services, Arts Idaho, and Lifetime Arts, and with additional support from the Idaho Commission on Aging and the Idaho Division of Veterans Services.

This sprint triathlon and duathlon at Q’emiln Park in Post Falls welcomes athletes ages 14 and up. The triathlon features a 0.3 mile swim, a 12 mile bike ride, and a 3 mile run. Young historians can explore North Idaho’s past through a Museum of North Idaho day camp. Designed for grades 1 through 6, the program offers three-day sessions each week, each centered on a different theme. Topics include transportation in Planes, Trains and Paddlewheels, wildfire and logging in Forestry Legends of North Idaho, pioneers and settlement in Journey to North Idaho, and geology and mining in Mining and Mighty Floods. Separate weeks are available for grades 1 to 3 and for grades 4 to 6. The cost is $125 per week.

Stomp, Chomp, and Roar! Reading Hour - Baby Lap-Sit (0-18 mo)

This dinosaur themed Baby Lap-Sit is designed for ages 0 to 18 months and is part of the Stomp, Chomp, and Roar! Reading Hour at the Coeur d’Alene Public Library. Caregivers and babies share playful songs, gentle rhymes, simple movement, and short stories that explore prehistoric creatures and features like long necks, big teeth, horns, tails, flippers, wings, and spikes. Baby and toddler storytimes include time to stay and play afterward. The series also includes toddler sessions and a preschool program that concludes with a craft.

Made for ages 5 to 8, this dinosaur-themed series in the Coeur d'Alene Public Library Community Room explores creatures from long ago through stories and hands-on projects that encourage imagination and friendships. Weekly themes include a brachiosaurus terrarium, a T-Rex pizzasaurus pie, a stegosaurus footprint fossil craft, a triceratops tossing challenge, a plesiosaur paper fortune-teller, a velociraptor dash, an ankylosaurus dino snot activity, a stomp rocket inspired by pteranodon, and a woolly mammoth friendship bracelet.

Participants read aloud to therapy dogs in a supportive environment. Subterranean Tales at Higgens Point

Head outdoors at Higgens Point State Park for a family-friendly storytime that explores the hidden world beneath the forest floor. This library-led program blends underground-themed tales with simple activities and hands-on projects inspired by the wonders that live below the surface. It is designed for children ages 4 to 10, and all ages are welcome. Plan for a short, easy paved walk of about a third of a mile from the Higgens Point parking area to the picnic shelter where storytime takes place. Across the series, themes include worms in the soil, deep tree roots, frogs under logs, flowing water underground, sparkling crystals, gopher tunnels, and ancient bones. At the conclusion of the program, families receive a special copy of The Dirt Book: Poems About Animals That Live Beneath Our Feet by David L. Harrison.

Discovery Fire All-You-Can-Eat Wood Fired Food Festival

Just 10 minutes from downtown Coeur d’Alene, this all-you-can-eat wood fired food festival features live fire cooking stations, beer and wine, live music, and yard games, with comfortable spaces to relax and linger. Discover a comprehensive beginner training in Reiki that blends the Western approach introduced by Mrs. Takata with traditional Japanese methods. The class focuses on easing stress and fostering relaxation to support healing, working with life force energy through gentle hand placements on or near the body to encourage balanced flow. By the end, participants are able to provide Reiki treatments to themselves and to others and are qualified to practice. Jump into Lake Coeur d’Alene for the Coeur d’Alene Crossing, an open-water swim with two options: a 5K route or a shorter 2K route. Both distances are an out-and-back swim starting and finishing at the Higgins Point Park and Rec area. The 5K begins at 7:00 AM and the 2K begins at 7:30 AM, with final completion required by 9:30 AM for safety. Participants can wear wetsuits if they want, and breakfast is provided at the conclusion. At Marina 33, the Summer Concert Series wraps up with its fifth and final night, offering live music in a riverfront atmosphere along with cold drinks and time with friends. Sammy Eubanks and Kelly Hughes are scheduled to return in September to keep the summer music going.

2026 CdA CoRec Summer Classic

The 16th annual Cd’A CoRec slow pitch adult softball Summer Classic brings a full weekend of coed action to Ramsey Softball Fields and additional area diamonds. Last year’s edition drew 90 teams and expanded to five fields at Ramsey plus fields at Memorial, Persons, and two at Majestic Park in Rathrdum. Organizers work to accommodate as many teams as possible, although capacity remains limited. Each team is guaranteed four games. The first two days feature a three game round robin within four team groups, with plaques for each group winner. Results from round robin play determine Sunday placement into eight brackets named Platinum, Gold, Silver, Bronze, Copper, Iron, Nickel, and Aluminum, with Platinum using a double elimination format. Sunday awards include trophies for first and second place, along with championship T shirts for each bracket champion. Teams from CdA and Spokane should be prepared to play on Friday night, while out of town teams start later. Night games are scheduled under the lights in CdA. Music, announcements, and live score updates run all weekend with DJ Brentano Russelli and crew, with DJs at both Ramsey and Plantes Ferry to keep the energy high and information flowing from every field. A Saturday night social at Paddy’s Bar features a free prize drawing for those in attendance, with giveaways from the host and sponsors, and team packets include a coupon for a complimentary pitcher there. Event apparel will be on site from Tshirts Inc, showcasing a new logo by Natalie McDonald and listing all team names on the back. Concessions operate all weekend at Ramsey with breakfast and lunch options, and a food truck may also appear at Plantes Ferry. Scoreboards, scorekeepers, softballs, and ASA certified umpires are provided. Entry is $359, and teams are being accepted with limited space. Team packets include schedules, rosters, team bios, sponsor information, and raffle details. Rosters must be completed during the first game and turned in to the scorekeeper, and each player must appear in at least one round robin game to be eligible for bracket play. Post Falls, ID 2-Day Seminar (2026)

This two-day Method K9 seminar focuses on behavioral rehabilitation for dogs of any age or breed. Guided by Stephanie and her team, the program explores the dog–handler relationship, drives, classical and operant conditioning, obedience, and the appropriate use of training tools. Individualized training plans are created for dogs working through reactivity, anxiety, fear, aggression, and resource guarding. Attendees must be 18 or older to participate. Two ticket options are available. A Working Seat, priced at $750, includes one handler attending with one dog and hands-on coaching throughout the event. An Observation Seat, priced at $500, is for one attendee without a dog and offers opportunities to ask questions, watch the trainers work with multiple dogs, and follow along with every exercise. Training blends theory with practical application, and certificates are awarded upon completion. Lunch is not provided. To secure a Working Seat, complete a contact form on the Method K9 website, schedule an interview call and, upon approval, pay the invoice. Submit vaccination records for rabies, distemper/parvo, and Bordetella, plus a negative fecal parasite test, at least 30 days before the seminar. Provide a written evaluation update describing your dog’s challenges 30 days in advance. All dogs must arrive comfortably muzzle conditioned to Method K9 standards so they can walk and eat while wearing the muzzle. Tutorials are provided to help meet this requirement. Observation Seats are available by ticket purchase. Working Seat participants should bring an approved basket-style muzzle such as those from Baskerville, Jafco, Dean and Tyler, Leerburg, or custom biothane; it should stay secure and allow eating, drinking, and panting, and fabric or nylon muzzles should be avoided. Also bring a long line, food or treats with a treat pouch, a secure collar that the dog cannot slip such as a martingale, fursaver, choke chain, Herm Sprenger prong collar, or slip lead, and a standard 4- to 6-foot leash. A notebook and pen are welcome. Dress in comfortable layers and avoid swimsuits, open-toed shoes or flip flops, and low-hanging jewelry. Observers may wish to bring a notebook and should follow the same dress guidelines. Members then vote, and once a majority is reached, each person writes a $100 check directly to the selected organization so the combined gift can make a larger difference. The group is entirely volunteer run and does not request administrative fees from members. Advance registration is required to attend.

Pig Out for a Cause

This event features extra food trucks and vendors, beer, live music, a car show, and more. It raises money for the Rathdrum Lions Foundation Backpack Program, which provides food for local school kids. Food truck fees are being donated, donation jars will be available, and proceeds from the car show will go directly to the foundation. A raffle offers another way to contribute. Applications are included in the summer application on the website. It is intended to become an annual tradition.

2026 Rathdrum Rumble

The Rathdrum Rumble is an all-ages community car show hosted by North Idaho College CTE and the Kootenai Technical Education Campus. It features classic cars, hot rods, modern builds, trucks, motorcycles, and more, offering a family-friendly experience for longtime enthusiasts as well as casual attendees. A special Young Builder category invites high school students to showcase their projects alongside experienced builders and restorers, celebrating skill, creativity, and mentorship. Hayden Lake Marathon 2026

Choose from a full marathon, half marathon, quarter marathon, 5K, or a kids fun run at Honeysuckle Beach in Hayden Lake, Idaho. The full marathon, half marathon, quarter marathon, and 5K begin and end at the beach. Runners take in expansive views of Hayden Lake along with scenery that includes golf courses, horse pastures, farms, and North Idaho forests. The marathon circles the entire lake, delivering a hilly and demanding route through forested stretches that rewards the effort. Participants receive chip timing, on-course aid stations, post race food, and a finisher shirt and medal.

CARNIVAL OF SHADOWS: THE LAST ACT

Crime Scene Entertainment presents an immersive murder mystery set within the fading splendor of the Carnival of Shadows, where frayed tents and worn glitter conceal rumors of curses, strange magic, and long-buried secrets. Charismatic ringmaster Alaric Moreau is preparing one last daring reveal to rescue the show, surrounded by a cast that includes the perceptive fortune teller Madame Zola, the melancholy clown Pip, and the sure-footed tightrope artist Lyra. During the spectacle, the famed performer known as the Crimson Sylph is slated for a breathtaking debut, but the grand moment twists into a shocking crime. Participants can step into the story as a character with a backstory, hidden motives, and information to protect, or attend as an observer and watch the intrigue unfold. Everyone navigates the carnival, questions suspects, trades insights, and hunts for physical clues and cryptic notes tucked around the space as the investigation plays out in real time. When the dust settles, theories are presented and votes are cast to unmask the culprit. Costumes are welcome. Those assigned roles receive tailored suggestions, while observers can embrace circus style or any theatrical look that sparks the imagination.
