An afternoon farmers market fills the museum’s outdoor park with local vendors, live music, activities for children, and food and nature classes, along with access to museum exhibits. A new family focused hour encourages families to learn and connect through free performances, story time, and other shared activities. Adults can take part in complimentary sessions with community organizations and local experts on topics like backyard chickens and beekeeping. Visitors can also explore the new exhibit We the People: Naperville and the American Story and step inside historic spaces such as the blacksmith shop and a one room schoolhouse. There is no admission fee.

Operated by The Conservation Foundation, Green Earth Harvest is a 60 acre specialty crop farm with deep conservation roots in a suburban setting. The Venue hosts Young Dubliners for a night of driving Celtic rock and spirited musicianship. For more than thirty years, this band has been a leading force in Celtic rock, and they are currently working on their tenth studio album with longtime producer Tim Boland while keeping up a busy tour schedule. Back on the road with renewed momentum, they bring a blend of Celtic and rock influences shaped by the varied backgrounds of the members. The lineup features Keith Roberts on vocals and guitar, Chas Waltz on violin, keys and vocals, Justin Pecot on guitar and vocals, Dave Ingraham on drums, and Ethan Jones on bass guitar. Fox Valley Lacrosse hosts its inaugural Summer Camp Training Day created for youth and high school athletes at any skill level. The coaching staff will be joined by program alumni who compete at the collegiate level, sharing insights and techniques with the next generation of players. The day opens with fundamental drills that athletes can continue practicing at home throughout the summer, then transitions into team play and small-sided scrimmages to strengthen decision making and lacrosse IQ. WMA First Annual Bunco Fundraiser!

At Judd Kendall VFW, the IL-2 Blanche Osborne Chapter of the Women Marines Association hosts its first annual bunco fundraiser supporting the Women Marines Association and the Foundation for Women Warriors. An 80s theme sets the tone, and attendees in their best throwback attire receive a complimentary raffle ticket for a chance at prizes. The event features lively bunco play, raffle baskets, door prizes, a 50/50 raffle, and plenty of good food and camaraderie. Prize highlights include the Bunco Queen title, cash awards of $100 for first place, $75 for second, $50 for third, a last place boobie prize, and $15 for the floater awarded to the last bunco. Tickets are $40 per person with pre-registration and $45 per person at the door. Proceeds benefit two nonprofits dedicated to women who have served. The Women Marines Association, a 501(c)(3), is the only charitable organization devoted exclusively to women Marines, preserving their legacy while providing advocacy, education, and fellowship for current and former Marines. The Foundation for Women Warriors, a 105-year-old nonprofit, honors and empowers women veterans and their children through programs, services, and advocacy that support their next mission.

This scholarship tournament welcomes USBC youth sanctioned bowlers and USBC adult sanctioned bowlers up to age 23. Reserve a spot through the event website, then download and mail the entry form to complete registration. The season entry fee is $60, and there is a one-time yearly membership fee of $25. Competition is offered in three divisions: Handicap, Scratch Boys, and Scratch Girls, with Handicap calculated at 80 percent of 200. Junior Gold qualifying is planned for U12, U14, U16, and U18 when possible. Boys and girls will be separated when there are at least four participants in a division, otherwise divisions may be combined. Sunset & S’mores Guided Kayak Tour ($69/person)

Participants embark on a guided sunset kayak outing that wraps up with toasted s'mores by the campfire. This shorter, family friendly experience welcomes paddlers of all skill levels and is $69 per person. The outing starts at the Aurora Athletic Club, where cars are left before a shuttle takes the group to North Aurora Island Park. On arrival, everyone receives a paddle and a properly fitted kayak PFD, then learns key skills on land, including how to move in a straight line, steer, stop, and maintain balance and comfort. Once the instruction is complete, the guide assists with launching and the trip begins on the water. The paddle concludes back at the Athletic Club with a sunset view on the Fox River, s'mores, and relaxed conversation around the fire. Howling Wolfe Canoe and Kayak provides the kayaks, personal flotation devices, paddles, the shuttle, a guide, and those sunset views. Participants must be at least 15 years old and a minimum of 100 pounds. Children may ride tandem with an adult if they weigh at least 30 pounds and can follow directions.

Candlelight: 90s Unplugged

In Naperville, Wentz Concert Hall & Fine Arts Center hosts a candlelit evening where the Listeso String Quartet performs 90s Unplugged favorites. Relive the soundtrack of the 1980s as Sixteen Candles delivers a fully live set at Naperville Last Fling, a Labor Day weekend tradition known for plenty of food and a lively carnival. Performing since 2003, the band tours internationally and plays without pre-recorded tracks, channeling the era’s energy and nostalgia in real time. The Last Fling is the largest annual fundraiser presented by the Naperville Jaycees and spans all four days of Labor Day weekend. It is organized in cooperation with the City of Naperville, the Naperville Park District, many community organizations, and a large team of volunteers. Plan ahead for entry requirements. A clear bag policy is in effect, and all guests will go through metal detector screening. Anyone under 18 must be with a parent or guardian who is at least 25 years old, with one guardian allowed for up to five minors. Unaccompanied minors found inside the gates will be escorted out.
