Double Love's Night Out to the Ballgame features an evening at the ballpark capped by extra festivities. After the final pitch, the night continues with a fireworks show, a drone show, and a marshmallow fight.

Spend an easygoing evening at Schaumburg Town Square with complimentary dance lessons taught by instructors from Schaumburg Arthur Murray Dance Studio, then keep the night going with live music and open dancing. Lawn chairs are welcome. The concert happens only if the weather cooperates, and there are no make-up dates. This installment spotlights salsa with music by Trabuco Salsa. Sponsored by Ascension, the Village of Schaumburg, Schaumburg Park District and Schaumburg Arthur Murray Dance Studio.

Turtle Trek Race brings an evening of friendly competition and live music to the Twin Lakes Waterfront. Adopt a racing turtle for $5, or get five for $20, for a chance to win $500, with $250 for second place. Event sponsors will also provide additional prizes. Adoptions are available online or by phone at 847-259-6890. After the race, the band Oh Yes! performs on the deck, and a 70th anniversary celebration caps the night.

D23 friends and families can take in a Schaumburg Boomers game against the Mississippi Mud Monsters at Schaumburg Boomers. Following the final out, the festivities include a marshmallow fight, a drone show, fireworks, and a chance to run the bases. The Fun Zone inflatables will be open during the game. A D23 seating section is available.

Dancing Queen: An ABBA Salute brings the feel of ABBA to the Performance Pavilion at Heritage Park, led by two dynamic female vocalists with heavenly vocals and supported by a lineup of highly accomplished musicians who revive the iconic sound. Admission is free.

Now in its 36th year, Schaumburg Summer Theatre spotlights talented local high school and college performers in Disney’s High School Musical. The East High crew comes to life on stage with energetic numbers, catchy tunes, and a feel good story suited for families. The book is by David Simpatico, with original songs by Matthew Gerrard and Robbie Nevil, Ray Cham, Greg Cham and Andrew Seeley, Randy Peterson and Kevin Quinn, Andy Dodd and Adam Watts, Bryan Louiselle, David N. Lawrence and Faye Greenberg, and Jamie Houston. Music is adapted, arranged, and produced by Bryan Louiselle, and the show is based on the Disney Channel Original Movie written by Peter Barsocchini. Presented through special arrangement with Music Theatre International, with authorized performance materials supplied by MTI. Schaumburg Summer Theatre is a program of the Village of Schaumburg.

Polish audition technique with Schaumburg Dance Ensemble at the second annual Nutcracker Warm-Up Camp. Created as a summer refresher for dance students, this camp focuses on building strong, transferable audition skills that can be used anywhere, including upcoming tryouts for the Ensemble’s 31st annual production of The Nutcracker. Sessions are grouped by age, with options for dancers ages 7 to 9, 10 to 12, and 13 and up.

Wendy & DB bring an energetic children's music performance to the Performance Pavilion at Heritage Park. Experience stories in the fresh air at Circle Park as the Bloomingdale Public Library offers an outdoor storytime at the Homola Picnic Shelter. Bring a blanket or chair for comfortable seating. If the weather does not cooperate, the event will move indoors to the Johnston Recreation Center.

A Wild Flowers Homeschool Co-Op summer event marks the season’s close with an ice cream get-together at My Flavor It Place. The gathering begins there and continues at the gazebo, where activities will be available for children. It wraps up a season of meet-ups and friendships with gratitude for everyone who took part and looks ahead to the new school year.
