Stamped Leather workshops at MIY
MIY is launching leather stamping as a new creative option with workshops that teach the fundamentals. Each class begins with an overview of the tool kit, materials, and core techniques, followed by an instructor-led demonstration. Participants then practice at their stations to build confidence before starting a personal project. Instructors move around the room to answer questions, offer tips, and help refine each design. This session centers on Stamp & Paint: Leather Bookmarks, combining stamped patterns with color to create a custom bookmark.
MIY StudioArea 1 ARP Team Challenge
Set at Valinor Farm, this team challenge welcomes Area 1 Adult Rider Program members, who are automatically entered. Anyone who would prefer not to participate can notify the coordinator at adultriders@area1usea.org. Teams may be created in two ways. Riders can assemble their own group of friends or barn mates and send the lineup to the coordinator by the stated deadline, or teams may be randomly assigned by the coordinator to balance divisions, amateurs, and professionals. Team lists are finalized the Wednesday before the event begins. All team members must be part of the Area 1 Adult Rider Program. Each team can include three or four riders competing at any level. Riders entered with more than one horse may be on more than one team, but they count as a single member on any given team. Three scores will count and one score may be dropped. An elimination results in 1,000 points being added, and the team stays in the competition. Prizes are awarded to the top three teams, and ribbons are presented through eighth place. For questions, contact Amy Winnen at adultriders@area1usea.org.
