Watercolor Classes by Diana Marta
Expand your watercolor practice in a hands-on workshop led by instructor Diana Marta. The session focuses on building confidence while creating finished pieces, with guidance that helps strengthen the way you think about and approach painting. Participants experiment with a range of watercolor techniques, refine brush control, and deepen their use of color, water, and composition. It offers a calm, supportive setting to hone technique or spend time developing a personal artistic voice, with room to play, learn, and enjoy the process. The workshop takes place at The Clubhouse, an intimate 100-seat venue in the Catonsville Arts District that is owned and operated by the Baltimore County Arts Guild, with additional classrooms available for classes and workshops.
Black Philanthropy Month Happy Hour
Celebrate Black Philanthropy Month at an annual happy hour presented by the Women’s Giving Circle and the Black Philanthropy Circle at the Community Foundation of Howard County. The gathering highlights the longstanding tradition of Black giving, recognizes leadership, celebrates generosity, and underscores its positive influence across the community. Both organizations are part of CFHC as giving circles and funds, partnering to bring people together to consider how pooled giving can strengthen community ties. Tickets are $25. Sponsorships are $100 and include one ticket along with visibility on their website, social media, and at the event.
Community Foundation of Howard CountyNational Night Out
Celebrate National Night Out at Ridgely's Run Community Center with an evening centered on neighborhood connections and strong partnerships between residents and public safety teams. This free community gathering includes a complimentary picnic dinner, police and fire displays, a petting zoo, and a video game truck. Attendees can also connect with Guilford Park High School staff and enjoy additional activities on site. Presented in partnership with Savage Stone LLC.
Ridgely's Run Community Center08/04 Paint with Puppies
Settle in for an evening of pottery painting with adoptable puppies from Small Miracles in Ellicott City. Each $15 ticket is donated to the rescue and includes a reserved seat and time for puppy cuddles. Choose and purchase your pottery on site, with many options typically ranging from $25 to $60, and decorate with dog themed pieces, stickers, and stencils. Items from the rescue’s wishlist will also be collected to help more animals. Every attendee, including chaperones, must have a ticket and complete a project, with a $20 per person minimum. Open to dog lovers of all ages, and participants under 13 must be accompanied by a ticketed painting adult. Doors open a few minutes early.
