Support Group: Survivor Experiences

This group offers a caring space for people affected by the events of 10/25/2023 to reflect on survivor guilt, grief, healing, and the challenges of moving forward after trauma. It welcomes those who were there as well as anyone deeply impacted by what happened and its aftermath, including family, loved ones, witnesses, helpers, community members, and others who carry feelings that can be hard to explain. Conversations may explore experiences such as feeling disloyal when enjoying life, replaying what might have gone differently, believing others suffered more, wondering whether support is deserved after surviving, trying to hold both grief and gratitude, feeling uneasy about moving ahead, sensing distance from people who were not there, or feeling stuck in the memories of that day. Whether these feelings are new, ongoing, or difficult to name, participation is welcome. Sharing is always optional, and everyone can engage at a pace that feels comfortable. ASL interpretation is available with advance request by emailing info@maineresiliencycenter.org at least 48 hours beforehand.

Pottery Wheel Thurs June 25th $59

Learn the pottery wheel in a two-step format that takes your work from wet clay to finished pieces. The first visit focuses on throwing, where you can make up to three items such as a cup, bowl, or vase using three balls of clay, each about 1 and 1/4 pounds. After this session your creations are kiln fired. You will then come back in about two to three weeks to apply glaze, after which everything is fired again, and a final visit is needed to pick up your finished pottery. For the wheel, you can request as much guidance as you like or work completely independently. Making more than three pieces is possible, with each extra item costing $10 to cover glazing and firing. Please plan to return within 30 days to glaze all items, and be sure to collect finished work within the stated 30-day window, since unclaimed pieces may be discarded due to limited storage. Short fingernails are helpful. Wear clothes that can get messy, and bring an old towel or rag for your hands. The class is limited to five people. The fee is $59. In 2025, classes sold out two to three weeks in advance. When purchasing a slot, do not enter a shipping address.

Rider Biomechanic & Performance Clinic

This rider biomechanics and performance clinic is led by Madison Cronin, DPT, a lifelong equestrian who specializes in performance-focused physical therapy for riders. Her competitive background includes dressage, hunter jumpers, saddle seat, and harness racing, providing a broad view of the physical demands of equestrian sport. For the past four years she has trained with Jennifer Mitchell, the current lead physical therapist for U.S. Equestrian, and she pairs that mentorship with an orthopedic physical therapy foundation to bring high-level rehabilitation principles to the arena in practical ways that support both horse and rider. Each rider receives a one-hour individual session that blends mounted and unmounted assessment, hands-on treatment with targeted corrections, rider-specific exercises and movement strategies for use in and out of the saddle, and a customized home program to help reinforce improvements after the clinic. The work centers on identifying and addressing asymmetries, stability or mobility limitations, and compensation patterns that influence communication, balance, and overall performance. It suits riders across disciplines and experience levels, whether the goal is stronger performance, better symmetry and position, injury prevention, or a thoughtful return to riding after injury. Five rider spots are available on Saturday and five on Sunday. The fee is $185 per rider spot. A weekend auditing option is available for $20. Stabling is limited and can be requested.

Trick Training clinic

This introductory clinic at Scarlet Day Farm focuses on the foundations of equine trick training in a small-group setting. Participants learn step-by-step methods for a variety of behaviors, including smiling, bowing, the Spanish walk, sidepassing to and from the handler at the mounting block for pick-up, lying down, sitting, and picking up objects with targeting. Some behaviors are quick to install while others require patience, and clear take-home progressions are provided for the more advanced skills so practice can continue afterward. The fee is $225 per person, with a $100 non-refundable deposit required to reserve a spot. Light refreshments are included, along with low-sugar treats for horses. Food or a clicker is not required, and an overview of clicker use will be offered for those who want to add it to their training. Please bring a rope halter, a 12 to 14 foot lead line, treats of your choice, a dressage whip or training stick, a chair, and lunch for yourself and your horse. Email proof of vaccines and a current Coggins to mhphorse@gmail.com. Day stalls are offered for $35.

Million Dollar Quartet

A co-production from Maine State Music Theatre and The Public Theatre brings Million Dollar Quartet to the stage. With a book by Colin Escott and Floyd Mutrux and original concept and direction by Floyd Mutrux, this Broadway musical is inspired by Elvis Presley, Johnny Cash, Jerry Lee Lewis, and Carl Perkins. Scott Moreau directs and portrays Johnny Cash alongside a company of musicians who capture the spark of a sound that reshaped popular music. The story returns to a legendary gathering in a Memphis recording studio where Presley, Cash, Lewis, and Perkins came together for an impromptu jam. As ambition, rivalry, faith, and fame intersect, the music of a new generation surges to the forefront. The score features more than 20 rock and roll favorites, including “Blue Suede Shoes,” “Fever,” “Walk the Line,” “Sixteen Tons,” “Who Do You Love?,” “Great Balls of Fire,” “Hound Dog,” and more.
