Pottery Wheel Sun Apr 19th

This hands-on pottery wheel class unfolds in two sessions. During the first visit, create up to three pieces on the wheel using three 1 1/4 lb balls of clay, such as a cup, bowl, or vase. Choose the amount of instruction you prefer, from minimal guidance to close help. Your pieces are fired after this step. Return within 30 days to glaze your work. The items are fired a second time and then ready for pickup. You have up to 30 days to glaze and pick up your pieces, otherwise they may be discarded because storage space is limited. Additional items beyond the first three are $10 each to cover glazing and firing. Short fingernails are recommended. Wear clothing that can get messy and bring an old towel or rag for your hands. Class size is limited to five people, and the fee is $59. In 2025 all classes sold out 2 to 3 weeks in advance.

Spring Refresh Clinic

Scarlet Day Farm hosts a spring refresh clinic led by Megan Harmon, designed to shake off winter rust and rebuild confidence for horses and riders. The day starts with a goal-setting conversation without horses, then moves into groundwork that encourages a soft feel and relaxation. After a break, participants tack up, briefly revisit groundwork while saddled, and transition into the riding portion to carry that connection under saddle. The clinic welcomes horses at any stage and riders 12 and older who can independently walk and trot in a small group, with cantering optional. Participation is limited to six. The fee is $200 for the day, with a $75 nonrefundable deposit required to reserve a spot. Deposits may be returned if the space is filled, and the remaining balance is due at the event. The arena is indoors, so the clinic will run rain or shine. Overnight stalls are available for $50 and day stalls for $35, both including bedding. Please bring a water bucket and hay or feed for your horse, along with a chair and a packed lunch. Light refreshments will be available. Vaccine and Coggins documentation should be emailed to mhphorse@gmail.com.
