An inclusive community playgroup offers families a warm place to connect while kids explore and play. Expect an open play period with a variety of toys, a table activity, a cozy reading corner, a writing and art station, and a sensory area. After a quick tidy-up, everyone gathers for circle time with a few songs and a story read by the host, followed by handwashing and a snack before wrapping up. The meetups take place in the basement of First Congregational Church and are not church affiliated. Enter through the double blue doors by the parking lot, then head downstairs or use the elevator to the basement community room. An extra tall safety gate is in place to help keep little escape artists from wandering. Hosted by Communities In Schools and NMCAA, with space provided by First Congregational Church.

Set in a peaceful farm setting, this market brings together animals, delicious food, and work by area artists for a welcoming community experience. It pairs nicely with a scenic drive and can be rounded out with a stop at the beach and visits to other nearby businesses and farms.

Celebrate autumn at the Honeycrisp Festival with homegrown fun across the Friske farm. Spend the day enjoying scenic wagon rides, face painting, cornhole, an inflatable obstacle course, and big upgrades to the outdoor playground, including a 150 foot double lane mega slide, the Adventure Barn, Apple Tree Climbers, the mega jumping pillow, and the Friske Flyer zipline. A full access wristband is $12.95 and includes one wagon ride. Adults need a wristband if they plan to participate in attractions, and children 2 and under are free. Spectators who only want a ride can purchase an adult wagon ride for $5. Treats and eats are plentiful. Pick up apple cider and pumpkin spice donuts, sip fresh-pressed cider hot or cold, or try it as a slushie or sparkling. A seasonal coffee menu, specialty ice cream sundaes, festival fare, and brick oven pizza and sandwiches round out the options. Look for vibrant mums to brighten the season. Head to the orchard for u-pick apples and mix and match varieties in your bag. Pricing is half peck for $10, one peck for $20, and half bushel for $30.
