This donation-based yoga session is offered by Pinecone Yoga and takes place inside the Marquette Commons. Classes are led by a rotating group of instructors who share a nature based approach to practice. In the spirit of seva, a portion of proceeds supports the market. A limited number of mats, blocks, and straps will be available. Everyone is welcome, and no one will be turned away for lack of funds.

Experience Marquette’s Lower Harbor from the water aboard two handcrafted rowing boats. Lark, a 32-foot Cornish pilot gig, and Spark, a 22-foot St. Ayles skiff, head out for a scenic outing that welcomes beginners as well as experienced rowers. No prior experience is required, though participants should have reasonable mobility and strength. Personal flotation devices are available, or bring your own if you prefer. Wear shoes suitable for stepping in and out of the boats, and consider packing an extra layer if it is chilly. There is no cost to participate. Seating is first come, first served, with space for up to 12 people.

This two-part book study focuses on The Complete Persepolis by Marjane Satrapi and meets at Bethany. Copies of the book are available to have and keep, and either pastor can provide one. Questions can be directed to Pastor J.

South Beach Track Club returns with speed-focused workouts along the South Beach bike path. The route is notably flat, making it a great place to open your stride and work on quicker pacing. Suitable for participants of all experience levels.

The Beaumier U.P. Heritage Center presents a new photographic exhibition celebrating the work of Mary Jayne Hallifax, a notably prolific Upper Peninsula photographer. Featuring 60 black and white images drawn from her extensive archive, the display offers a vivid portrait of Munising in the 1950s and 1960s, from community gatherings and street life to school activities and everyday moments. These prints come from original negatives that Hallifax gifted to photograph collector Jack Deo, who is lending them for this showcase. Hallifax spent more than seven decades documenting her hometown. A 1946 graduate of W.G. Mather High School, she discovered her passion while working on the yearbook, left a position at People’s State Bank to pursue photography full time, and became a go-to commercial photographer for weddings and senior portraits. She was equally devoted to candid scenes of local life and even contributed work to the State Police crime lab. In 1948 she married Richard Hallifax, and their partnership combined his film developing and press work with her printing and portrait studio practice. Over the course of newspaper assignments and beyond, she photographed seven Michigan governors during visits to Munising, including G. Mennen “Soapy” Williams, John Swainson, George Romney, William Milliken, James Blanchard, John Engler, and Rick Snyder. Well into her later years she wrote weekly community columns for the Marquette Mining Journal and earlier for the Munising News. She passed away in 2025 at the age of 96. Admission is free and everyone is welcome.

Little Illustrators highlights the creators of beloved picture books with monthly sessions that include a story read aloud, a guided exploration of an illustrator’s unique style, and a hands-on art project. Participants will craft their own piece to take home using techniques inspired by the featured artist. This session focuses on the art of Steve Jenkins.
