Artist Trading Card (ATC) MAKING Workshop
A free in-person gathering for adults and teens 15 and older focused on celebrating and trading artist trading cards. Participants are asked to bring ATCs to exchange along with fancy cookies to share. Tea and china teacups are provided. Space is limited, so advance registration is required. This is a swap session rather than a making workshop. Artist trading cards are miniature works of art collected and traded worldwide, often at organized swaps in person or online. The only official rule is size, measuring 2.5 inches by 3.5 inches. A separate cardmaking event is available through registration.
Art Works! StudioButterflies, Birds & Blooms Seminar
Pollinators are essential to thriving gardens and ecosystems. Held at Bordine's of Rochester Hills, this free seminar shares plant choices and gardening techniques that draw in butterflies, bees, and other helpful insects so you can create a landscape that is both beautiful and alive with activity. The program begins with a seated presentation and continues with a guided tour. Registration is free and can be completed in store or by phone.
Bordine's of Rochester HillsArt Foundations (Ages 9-11)
An intimate art class for children ages 8 to 11 blends solid technique with imagination, close observation, and creative exploration. Participants build core skills in drawing and painting, practice perspective and composition, explore color, and create mixed media projects using high quality art materials. Lessons are tailored to different experience levels, learning styles, and interests in a calm, encouraging studio setting. Educator and artist Sasha Roberts-Levi offers personalized guidance, inviting students to experiment, make thoughtful choices, and develop a unique artistic voice. Projects may include representational, abstract, imaginative, and mixed media work, and young artists are encouraged to slow down, look carefully, and express ideas with growing confidence. This class suits children who enjoy making art, want to strengthen foundational skills, thrive in a small group, and benefit from individualized support. The focus is not on anime, manga, or cartoon styles. No prior experience is needed, and all supplies are provided. Advance registration is required, and families enrolling siblings can find discount information in the registration form. Additional in-studio and online classes, workshops, and creative opportunities are available at Art Works! Studio.
