Blood Drive: American Legion Post 3
Attendees can donate blood at American Legion Post 3, helping patients in emergencies and those undergoing cancer treatment. Community support enables the Upper Peninsula Regional Blood Center to supply hospitals across the Upper Peninsula. The donation process is fast, straightforward and safe, and a single donation can help up to three people. This is a free community blood drive. American Legion Post 3Spring Training Tuesdays – Safe Sleep Edition
This free, drop in learning session for parents and caregivers focuses on safe sleep for infants. The Tree House offers friendly coaching and support in a flexible format that lets attendees come when it works, pick up new information, and head out as needed. The session explores the ABCs of safe sleep... alone, on the back, in a crib... with clear steps to lower the risk of sleep related infant deaths and to set up a secure sleep space for a baby. Someone certified in Safe Sleep will be available to answer questions, share practical tips, and provide encouragement. Children under age 5 can play for free while adults participate.

Learn practical ways to find morel mushrooms with guidance from Anthony Williams, a five-time National Morel Hunting Champion who retired undefeated and now serves in an expert in residence role for the National Morel Festival. His family has been picking in Northern Michigan since the 1890s, and he draws on more than seventy years of experience to explain when to look, where to search, and how to pick these mushrooms. The presentation includes tips and stories from decades of hunting, followed by a question and answer session. For the past twenty years he has taken this seminar to festivals across Michigan. This free event welcomes all ages and does not require registration. Support is provided by the Friends of the Escanaba Public Library.

This event at the Northern Center, Northern Michigan University honors special women. The program features guest speaker Stephanie Graef from the UP Human Trafficking Task Force, with emcees Elizabeth Petersen and Jennifer Perez. A light meal and dessert will be available, and there will be raffle baskets.
