Art in the Park
A creative summer series invites young artists to explore animals from around the globe while learning how to sketch step by step and try out new materials. Everyone receives the same instruction, yet each artwork takes on its own personality as imagination leads the way. After the art session, a free Concert in the Park keeps the evening going with live music outdoors as part of the Art in the Park experience in Ramsey. Themes travel across continents and feature creatures such as kangaroos from Australia, golden eagles of North America, white arctic foxes of the North Pole, Asian elephants, African giraffes, penguins from Antarctica, howler monkeys from South America, and Europe’s fire salamanders. This program is designed for ages 5 to 15. The fee is 5 dollars per session. Pre-registration is requested and space is limited, with registration handled through the Rumriver Art Center. If weather does not cooperate, the program shifts to Ramsey City Hall and registered participants receive an email notice. Please note that one recent gathering was canceled due to poor air quality caused by wildfire smoke, with plans to resume the following week.

Making a popular return, the largest corgi get together in the Midwest offers an afternoon of corgi fun for owners and their pups. Corgis and corgi mixes are welcome. Please check in with your dog at the entrance to help keep an accurate headcount. Previous attendance has reached about 300 corgis, and the aim is to top that number. Food trucks will be on site, along with corgi themed merchandise, a mobile grooming service, and professional photo mini sessions. There are plenty of places for pictures among tall pines and prairie scenery, with sunflowers still available even though the full field is not open this year. Corgis can enjoy off leash playtime in a fenced backyard. Admission is free, and parking is free both on site and across the street at Prairie Knoll Park. This gathering is for corgi owners only. By attending, you agree to waive and release any claims for injury, damage, or loss for yourself, your dog, and your guests that may arise from participation. Birdies Fore Brave Babies brings golfers and supporters together for a day centered on community, connection, purpose, and fun, all in support of NICU families through The Brave Foundation. Hosted in partnership with Majestic Oaks Golf Club, the event pairs a lively tournament atmosphere with a mission-driven focus. The Brave Foundation was created out of a family’s time in the NICU. Their son Brave was born four months early at one pound and spent nearly a year receiving life-saving care. Shortly after he came home, their daughter was also born prematurely and faced another lengthy NICU stay. Across 517 days between both children, they experienced fear and uncertainty, as well as the power of support and community. Today, the foundation delivers Brave Boxes and resources that offer practical help and encouragement to NICU families. Expect a spirited day with lots of purple, friendly faces, and a course filled with purpose. Three Soul Cry Reunion Concert
Contemporary Christian trio Three Soul Cry reunites at the Music Factory for a special concert, marking only the second time the group has come back together. The lineup features Tom Mills, Sara Renner and Chryss Altamirano. During their time together they won the Minnesota State Fair talent competition and released two albums of original songs, titled III Soul Cry and These Remaining Days. This performance offers a chance to hear them together again in a live setting. All seats are general admission. Tickets cost $30 in advance and $35 at the door. Concessions will be available, including Mr. Chipper's fresh baked cookies, and merchandise will be on sale. The Music Factory is on the second floor of the WWI-era Old Milk Factory along the Rum River in Anoka. The building is not wheelchair accessible and requires climbing stairs.

Mark the fourteenth year of Anoka’s Walking Dead Pub Crawl with a free, self-guided stamp challenge across downtown Anoka. Start by picking up a toe tag card at any participating spot, then stop at each location to get it stamped at the designated area. When your card is complete, turn it in at any participating venue at the end of the night. Each place runs its own prize drawing, and your entry goes to the venue where you drop off the finished card. Celebrating its 25th year, this showcase spotlights the creativity behind customized portable ice fishing shelters. Launched in 2002 in a St. Cloud park, it was built around the idea of upgrading and personalizing gear. Today, both flip-over and hub-style shelters are welcome, with space to display unique builds and connect with other ice anglers. The event takes place at Adrenaline Sports Center and runs in tandem with the North Metro Ice Show at the same venue. Attendees are entered for a chance to win a guided ice fishing outing with Matt Johnson Outdoors. Those who enter their shelter in the contest can look forward to prize drawings, and a participant vote will determine a plaque for the top shelter. Prizes are still being finalized.
