Discover the art of mosaics in a welcoming beginner class where participants learn the essentials through a complete, hands-on project. Each person creates a mosaic wall panel that can be given as a gift, used as a trivet for a favorite pie, or displayed on a wall. The session moves through three clear stages that build skills step by step, starting with design and layout alongside tile cutting, continuing with how to adhere pieces and transfer a design, and finishing with practical grouting guidance for a clean result. Closed toe shoes are required for safety. The class is guided by Caron, a Minnesota public artist who has focused on mosaics for more than a decade. Highlights of Caron’s work include a collaboration with Mercedes Austin on two ten foot mosaic murals installed in the main terminal of Minneapolis St. Paul International Airport. Caron draws inspiration from the light within individuals and a commitment to connecting communities through art.

ZGC Cash Raffle features 30 cash prizes awarded over two and a half hours, with drawings every five minutes. Tickets are $100 each, and only 300 will be available. Proceeds benefit the Zumbrota Golf Club Equipment and Improvement Fund, supporting improvements to the course and facilities for members and guests.

All current and former military, law enforcement, fire services, EMS, frontline medical staff, corrections, and 911 dispatchers are welcome.

Teens interested in shaping library services can take part in the Teen Advisory Board, a volunteer group that helps the library serve the community. Members collaborate on developing and delivering programs for visitors of all ages, suggest ideas for the layout and book collections, write reviews or create book lists for the website, and gather books for in-library displays. Roles can vary to match different interests and skills. Volunteer hours may be applied to National Honors Society and other group requirements. Participants must be at least 12 years old or enrolled in 6th grade.
