Historic Mayowood Tour

Explore the storied home of the Mayo family on a guided visit through Mayowood, a 38-room residence built in 1910 by Dr. Charles H. Mayo and his wife, Edith. Much of the house remains furnished as it was during the family’s time there, offering a rare window into their daily life and legacy. Knowledgeable guides share original family artifacts, engaging stories, and behind the scenes details that highlight traditions of medicine, service, and hospitality. Thousands of visitors come each year to appreciate the architecture and grounds. Access is available only by guided tour. On days without tours, the site is closed to the general public, and the grounds are not open during business hours without a tour ticket. Regular and specialty tour pricing is 20 dollars for adults age 13 and up, 10 dollars for children ages 3 to 12, and visits are not recommended for children under 3.

This public CPR course provides training toward American Heart Association certification as a BLS Provider or Heartsaver CPR/AED. ROGA Gymnastics - Eyota, MN 2026

Children ages 5-14 can explore gymnastics skills in a supervised, welcoming environment. ROGA staff will be instructing the class. Remember to pack a water bottle. A waiver form must be completed before attending, and can be downloaded and printed from the provided link. Miniature Paint Night - Brush Control and Discipline

Explore brush control and discipline in a miniature painting session tailored to beginners while welcoming painters of every experience level. The class demonstrates how to apply smooth, uniform layers, guide the brush across varied surface contours, and manage moisture in both paint and brush to achieve consistent results. Participants are encouraged to bring a few brushes, ideally sizes 0, 2, and 4, along with a wet palette if available or a simple pad for the paint station, plus water, a rinse cup, and a cloth rag or paper towels. A mysterious mechanical fortune teller offers them a chance to return to life, and they grapple with difficult truths about themselves and one another as their stories unfold. The Rochester Public Library Bookmobile introduces a new summer stop at HCOC, extending services to community members who cannot visit the main library because of geographic, transportation, economic, or other barriers. It is bedtime for Toto’s puppies, and a story is on the way. Toto shares his take on the whirlwind that carried them from their Kansas farm and the brave journey that followed with Dorothy in the land of Oz. Along the road they meet Chew Toy the chatty Scarecrow, Shiny Guy the overly dramatic Tin Woodman, and Big Cat the timid Lion. With help from Glinda the Good Witch of the North, a devoted hockey fan, they work to outsmart the one-eyed Wicked Witch of the West and her squad of flying monkeys. Illuminate & Restore is a group sound meditation at Hermitage Farm that welcomes the expansive spirit of June, creating room for renewal, clarity, and inner balance. From there, participants enter a meditative sound journey where the vibrations of gongs, crystal and Tibetan singing bowls, chimes, and intuitive vocal tones move through the body and energy field to support clearing, emotional release, restoration, and deeper connection within. In harmony with the season’s brightness, this supportive space invites gentle growth so you can feel both replenished and steady as summer unfolds. Carson James brings a three day horsemanship clinic to Star B Arena in Racine, Minnesota. Each rider works with one horse while focusing on the small details that create big changes. Instruction centers on clear communication through timing, feel, and thoughtful use of pressure and release so the right answer becomes easier for the horse to find. The format suits riders dealing with a specific challenge as well as those seeking a better understanding of why a horse responds the way it does. Rider and auditor spots are available. Participants may bring a horse, or attend with a chair and notebook to observe. Space is limited and tends to fill quickly. JM Football Golf and Corn Hole Tournament

The annual JM Football golf tournament returns to Northern Hills GC with a day of friendly competition and community support. Golf registration covers 18 holes, a cart, and dinner for a four-person team priced at $400, with a $100 discount available for JM Football sponsors. A corn hole tournament is also available for those who prefer not to golf, offering team registration for $50 that includes bracket play and dinner. Both activities will use a shotgun start. A raffle and games will also be on site, creating more ways to support JM Football.

Kenji Tanigaki’s THE FURIOUS comes to Pop's Art Theater, acclaimed as a modern action standout. After Wang Wei’s daughter is abducted and the police offer no help, he sets out on a personal mission to find her. His sole ally is Navin, a tenacious journalist whose wife has gone missing, and together they confront the criminal network behind the crime in an intense martial arts clash. Pickleball takes center stage at Rochesterfest with a tournament at the Eagles Club courts. Players compete in doubles, with women’s, men’s, and mixed divisions organized by DUPR rating. Women’s and mixed brackets are 3, 3.5, and 4, and men’s brackets are 3, 3.5, and 4.0. Teams take the court with a partner and paddles for structured match play across these skill levels.

Inner Spaces explores where maqam meets forward-looking sound. The duo of Amir ElSaffar, a trumpeter, santur player, vocalist, and composer, and Lorenzo Bianchi Hoesch, a composer and electronic music performer, crafts immersive electro acoustic worlds that weave microtonal harmonies with a fluid mix of improvisation and composition. A free community celebration marks the tenth year of Art4Trails with an artist presentation at Rochester Art Center and an optional guided bike tour led by We Bike Rochester to view new sculptures along the city’s bike trails. A highlight is the ceremonial burn of Dispersal, a retired Art4Trails sculpture made from invasive buckthorn, at the old Silver Lake Fire Station, where artist Tobias Gilbert will be available to discuss the work. New installations for this year feature Sunburst by Patricia Stephens on the bike trail at River Landing, The Third Place by Olivia Mulvey Morawiecki in Mayo Park, and Under Her Wing by Judd Nelson in the Slatterly Park Arts District near the playground. Artists will be present to share insights into the inspirations, materials, and messages behind their sculptures. Stephens, an artist from Chicago trained in ceramics, metalsmithing, and sculpture, is pursuing an MFA at MCAD with a focus on public art and collage, and her work has been shown in Chicago and Beijing. Mulvey Morawiecki, based in Minnesota, blends sound, sculpture, and community engagement to create interactive, site-responsive environments shaped by natural materials, tuned chimes, and participatory design. Nelson’s steel work portrays a mother egret with two young, formed through hammering and hot forging, then welded to a solid base. Raised in Minnesota, he began welding in his teens, studied art education with an emphasis on metal sculpture at the University of Minnesota, taught in South Dakota and Idaho, led Teen Welding at the Minnetonka Center for the Arts, worked for 14 years as a lead builder on the PBS series Hometime, and maintains a summer studio and teaching practice in Grand Marais. Art4Trails is an annual program now presented by Rochester Art Center, adopted in 2023 from a volunteer-led initiative that began in 2016. Through an open call and juried selection, artists create temporary works that remain on the bike trails for one year, sharing 42 public artworks in Rochester over the past decade. Rochester Art Center, a contemporary art museum along the Zumbro River in downtown Rochester, presents exhibitions by artists from near and far, offers education for all ages, and builds partnerships that spark curiosity, creativity, and critical thinking. This celebration is supported by Rochester Parks and Recreation and by partners at We Bike Rochester, with help from dedicated volunteers.

Grand Conversations: Q&A with Dr. Cahill Smith - Free and Open To Public

A public Q&A with concert pianist and educator Dr. Cahill Smith at Mount Olive Lutheran Church features a discussion shaped by pre-submitted questions on piano repertoire, pedagogy, literature, and technique. Dr. Smith serves as Associate Professor of Piano and Keyboard Studies Coordinator at Utah State University, teaching applied piano and lecture courses for piano majors. His interests include Russian romantic piano music, chamber music for piano and strings, cultivating tone and technique, and analysis for performers. He also advises the USU Youth Conservatory, a lab school for piano teachers that offers affordable lessons and group classes to pre-college students in northern Utah. Recognized as a Yamaha Artist on the Classical Piano roster and as an MTNA Foundation Fellow, he brings a blend of artistic insight and teaching experience to this free, open-to-the-public conversation.
