Stroll the rows, take it all in, and see what stands out to you. The evening atmosphere extends beyond the vehicles. Live music sets the tone each week, while Buck ‘54 Bar & Grill keeps the crowd fueled with barbecue, burgers, beer, and other options. Those interested in displaying a vehicle must complete online pre-registration and receive approval to participate. The series is supported by partners including Blackfire Creative, Jeff Belzer’s, Scoop Concessions, and QA1.
RRMN Romp & Spa/ Nail Trim Event
Enjoy an indoor rabbit social and spa experience in a 2,000 square foot romp room outfitted with ramps, tunnels, and plenty of litter boxes for bunnies to explore. While rabbits play, families can visit with other rabbit owners and access on-site services such as nail trims and scent gland cleaning. All participating rabbits must be spayed or neutered, vaccinated against RHDV2, and housed indoors. Limit attendance to two people per rabbit and remain seated along the perimeter while experienced rabbit handlers supervise activity inside the room. Romp access is $5 per bunny with a pay for three, the rest are free offer. Nail trims are $10, scent gland cleaning is $5, brush outs are $15 when available, and dematting is $20 when available. A shave is $40 by appointment only. All prices include tax.

Experience a guided introduction to hiking and the refuge trails at the Old Cedar Avenue pavilion. Refuge staff and volunteers lead this all-ages outing, sharing trail know-how along with the sights, sounds, and breezes of summer. No experience is needed. The pace is easy to moderate, aiming for about 2 to 2.5 miles over roughly an hour and a half, with frequent breaks to keep it comfortable. Optional registration helps staff prepare materials, send reminders, and reach participants if weather changes affect plans. Dress for a fully outdoor program. Close-toed shoes and pants are recommended, along with sunscreen, bug spray, and a full water bottle. Restrooms and water fountains are available seasonally, and a portable restroom is on site. Dedicated handicap parking is provided. Nearby trails are mostly natural surface. Bluff Trail includes a wooden boardwalk and several steep sections starting about a quarter mile in, then connects to the Minnesota Valley State Trail about 3.4 miles from the start, which is flat and paved. The pedestrian bridge is a flat concrete path. Seasonal conditions can make natural surface paths muddy or snowy, and some paths may not be suitable for strollers or wheelchairs. There are no benches on the trails, though rest areas are located at the pavilion, the Nature Play Area, and the fishing pier. The trailhead is less than a tenth of a mile from the parking lot. The 31st Annual Ramalynn Open brings the community together on the course to honor and remember co-founder Rama Ramalingam, whose passion for this tournament and its impact on Ramalynn’s academic programs continues to inspire. Set at The Meadows at Mystic in Shakopee, Minnesota, the event features on-course challenges across eight contest holes, including longest drive, longest putt, and put it on the green on three of the course’s most demanding par threes, all with notable prizes and experiences. Top teams can also earn first and second place rewards such as tickets to the Twins, Vikings, Wolves, Wild, and United, along with restaurant, club, and hotel experiences. Entry is $185, and proceeds support the school’s Art department, Knowledge Bowl team, and Robotics program. The tournament aligns with the opening night of Ribfest, which concludes with a concert and fireworks. Afterward, a cheerful procession moves to Nickelodeon Universe for an attempt to set a world record for the most people sharing one name to ride a roller coaster consecutively. Settle into a 45-minute gentle yoga session by the lake, welcoming to complete beginners and longtime practitioners alike. The practice offers a calm start in fresh air with water views. Participation is free, with an optional donation of $10–$20. Everyone is welcome whether or not they contribute. If registration is full, walk-ups may still join by signing a brief waiver on arrival. Bring a yoga mat and water, and consider sunglasses for comfort. A second mat or a picnic blanket adds extra cushioning. Most of the practice area is level concrete, and there is adjacent grass if you prefer a softer surface. Sessions may be postponed in the event of storms, rain, wet ground, or cold snaps. Registered participants receive email updates about changes. To find the spot, park near the large Cobblestone Lake picnic shelter and pavilion. Follow the paved walkway toward the shelter, then continue past the restrooms and the outdoor exercise equipment to reach the lakeside practice area in about two to three minutes. Instruction is led by Lori Kampa, a 200-hour certified yoga instructor, Reiki Master, and National Board Certified Integrative Health Coach.

Started in 2003 after cuts in local government aid put Wood Lake Nature Center’s environmental education partnership with Richfield Public Schools at risk, the event continues to support a long-standing program that has brought Richfield’s K-6 students to the nature center several times each year as part of their science curriculum, with proceeds helping sustain it annually.

The group is a fixture in the Twin Cities music scene, performing throughout the metro and appearing at the Minnesota State Fair for four consecutive years. Also performing is Obsidian James, an Afro-Indigenous artist whose music grows from real moments of love, doubt, joy, and survival, carried by warm guitar, smooth vocals, and deep pocket grooves. SkatevilleA Theta state of mind- An 8 part flow
This weekly nature-based gathering supports the healing of body, mind, and soul. Over eight sessions, each meeting runs about 90 minutes and focuses on settling the nervous system, exploring key pillars of wellness, learning simple energy practices and ways to clear them, and spending mindful time in the forest. Every session concludes with a group reiki meditation intended to enter a theta state and signal safety for healing, creating a consistent rhythm that can help loosen old patterns. Participants are encouraged to bring a blanket or towel or a yoga mat, an optional pillow, water, and a pen and paper for journaling. No experience is needed. Friends and family are welcome, and the group is for ages 16 and older. The series meets at Hyland Lake Park Reserve. Look for the Sunnyside sign facing the lake at the south end of the first parking area on the right. The cost is $15 per person per session, payable by cash or Venmo at the event. Kids ages 7 to 12 spend a fun, beginner-friendly week building their own ukulele bands. Campers learn real songs they can keep playing at home, choose a band name, design a logo and poster, and wrap up with a concert for family and friends on the final day. No prior musical experience is required, and ukuleles are provided for use during camp. Throughout the week, students collaborate to shape their band experience. They sing and play musical games, try simple songwriting and lyric activities, practice rhythm and coordination in groups, and enjoy daily outdoor play and group games at nearby Bryant Park. The emphasis is on growing confidence, creativity, and teamwork in a supportive setting. Each day balances learning, movement, creativity, and rest. Campers should bring a packed lunch, a water bottle, a morning and afternoon snack, and comfortable clothing for indoor and outdoor activities. Sunscreen is recommended for outdoor periods. Enrollment is capped at 12 to keep groups small and collaborative, with a minimum of 6 students required for a session to run. Eating and drinking during the competition are allowed, and box top holders and sorting trays are permitted. Ames Center2nd Annual Lavender Challenge
Now in its second year, the Lavender Challenge is a two day dodgeball tournament hosted by Minnesota Dodgeball that centers, celebrates, and uplifts queer and WTNB communities in the Midwest. The event focuses on creating a welcoming, inclusive environment where queer, women, trans, and nonbinary players can compete, connect, and showcase their skills. Participation is open to players who identify as part of the LGBTQIA+ community or the Women, Trans, and Nonbinary community. Allies are encouraged to support by helping with refereeing, setup, and breakdown. Competition spans two days with a mix of bring your own team and remix formats. The first day features Open BYOT 6x6 Foam and Mixed BYOT 6x6 Foam, both using double elimination. BYOT means players form their own teams. Mixed teams must have at least two WTNB players on the court. Teams may roster the minimum number of players, yet having additional teammates is strongly encouraged since replacements are not allowed once playoffs begin. Two optional add ons are available as single elimination remix brackets in cloth and in no sting. For these, Minnesota Dodgeball drafts players onto teams, there is no round robin, and participation is capped at 56 with a minimum of 28. The second day offers a Remix Open Foam double elimination bracket designed to distribute talent and build connections across the community, along with a WTNB BYOT 5x5 No Sting division that also uses double elimination. That division welcomes trans men, trans women, and nonbinary players, including those who present as male. If numbers require it, divisions may shift to a remix format. Overall division offerings may be combined or adjusted based on interest. Pricing is available for both members and nonmembers. Nonmembers pay $50 per main division and $10 for each remix add on. Members pay $45 per main division and $5 for each remix add on, with membership offered at $40 per year. Out of state players should use nonmember pricing unless they choose to purchase a membership. Play will generally follow USA Dodgeball rules for foam, cloth, and no sting. Awards include medals for first and second place, along with a banner and a trophy photo. Details are subject to change and organizers will share updates with the community. At its heart, this tournament highlights queer joy, athleticism, and solidarity, aiming to grow opportunities in the sport while ensuring everyone feels seen and supported.

The 2026 Minnesota Badminton Open brings competitive play to Burnsville High School with a full slate of events for adults, seniors, and youth. Players can enter men’s and women’s singles and doubles, mixed doubles, plus senior divisions that welcome men’s pairs with both players 45 years or older and mixed pairs where the male must be at least 45 and the female at least 35. Recreational singles and doubles are available for participants 16 and under who have not competed in an adults open tournament, and those matches use a single game to 31 points. Entry fees are $50 for one event, $75 for two, and $10 for each additional event. A high school student flat rate of $30 is available, and students should list their school name in the Club field during registration. A registration deadline applies, with an earlier cutoff for t-shirt orders. All fees and event details are subject to change. The tournament uses a drop-flight format. A loss in the first match places a player or team into the C bracket. Winning the opener but falling in the second moves you to B. Winning the first two before a loss sends you into A Consolation at its first round, and a quarterfinal loss shifts you to the second round of A Consolation. The organizer may remove the consolation bracket if needed. Events may be canceled if fewer than eight entries are received. Men’s singles, men’s doubles, and mixed doubles are capped at 64 entries, and all other draws are limited to 32. Intentionally losing to gain an advantage is prohibited. Suspected sandbagging can lead to disqualification and no refund. Report any concerns to the organizer. Players who return to an appropriate level of play may be allowed to continue, but repeated issues after a warning may result in removal from the tournament. Skill levels are defined as follows: A+ for professionals who have represented their country in international events or hold a BWF account, then A, B, C, and D for players who have previously placed in those respective brackets in past tournaments. Returning after strong interest, this second annual charity classic car show offers a fresh twist on a traditional car meet. Hosted by Hayden-Murphy, the gathering showcases standout vehicles alongside the company’s signature red and yellow cranes, bringing the community together around a meaningful purpose. All proceeds support VEAP and local families in need, and Hayden-Murphy will match donations up to 5,000 dollars. Entry for a vehicle or motorcycle is 10 dollars, while spectator admission is free. Raffle prizes require winners to be present to claim them.
Beastly Bash 2026
Hosted by the Minnesota Zoo Foundation, this after-hours gala transforms the Zoo into an open-air celebration of lifelong care for animals. Guests can take in live entertainment, watch animal demonstrations, savor food and drinks, and learn about ways to help Zoo residents thrive as they age. Every ticket and donation supports the Minnesota Zoo. An event ticket is $500 and includes generous food stations, alcoholic and nonalcoholic beverages, live entertainment, animal encounters, memorable photo opportunities, and valet service. Private Conservation Cabanas start at $12,500 for a group of 10 and provide a dedicated space for the entire evening, reserved seating for the program, exclusive passed appetizers delivered to the cabana, access to a dedicated cabana bar, and a special visit from an animal ambassador.

Normandale Japanese Garden 50 Year Anniversary
A free, family friendly festival marks the 50th anniversary of Normandale’s Japanese Garden, celebrating Japanese culture and the community that nurtured this Bloomington landmark. Expect traditional performances, interactive activity booths, and Japanese cuisine while honoring a space dedicated to calm reflection and connection. Created between 1972 and 1976 through the efforts of the Bloomington Affiliated Garden Clubs, the two-acre garden showcases koi ponds, hand crafted bridges, stone lanterns, small islands, a waterfall, and a living collection of more than 300 plants selected for Minnesota’s climate. Guided by Tokyo garden architect Takao Watanabe, the design pairs classic Japanese aesthetics with local resilience. The celebration is presented by TORO, with support from partners including the City of Bloomington, the Japan America Society of Minnesota, the Bloomington Sister City Organization, the St. Paul Nagasaki Sister Cities Committee, the Japanese American Citizens League, Bloomington Travel and Tourism, and Ikebana International Chapter 121, whose collaboration helps honor the garden’s legacy and enrich the festivities.

Young innovators explore how electricity works during a hands-on workshop at The Works Museum. Designed for students in grades 3 through 6, the session introduces the parts of simple circuits including power, loads, wires, and switches, then guides participants in wiring a working circuit. Attendees experiment with small motors, try different ways to use them, and create a take-home project such as a fan powered by a motor or a wiggle bot. A tour of the museum is included.

The event also benefits the Buck Hill Ski Racing Team, supporting the development of future athletes. It is a straightforward way to get winter-ready with quality gear and practical savings.
Crossfit Templar Presents Battle in the Valley 2026
Now in its sixth year, this partner throwdown at CrossFit Templar brings a bigger program and two new ways to compete. Teams of two in male male or female female pairs can choose from RX, Intermediate, Masters, or Scaled divisions, with Intermediate and Masters debuting this year to give more athletes a clear lane to shine. Registered athletes receive a shirt or tank along with swag, WODs run to the soundtrack of a professional DJ, and photographers will capture the action for post event galleries. Volunteers are provided a shirt, swag, and care throughout the day. Spectators are welcome at no charge, parking is plentiful, and athletes can set up tent space on the side of the building. The test slate includes Turn the Music Up, an 8 minute AMRAP that pairs row calories with the classic DT sequence of 12 deadlifts, 9 hang cleans, and 6 shoulder to overhead. Both teammates work simultaneously, and the score combines total row calories with total DT reps. Another challenge, Johns, runs 12 minutes with division specific movements. RX features 8 or 6 calories on the Echo bike, 6 dumbbell snatches at 70 or 50 pounds, and 3 bar muscle ups. Intermediate and Masters take on 8 or 6 Echo bike calories, 6 dumbbell snatches at 50 or 35 pounds, and 6 chest to bar pull ups. Scaled performs 8 or 6 Echo bike calories, 6 dumbbell snatches at 35 or 25 pounds, and 9 jumping pull ups. Division standards are outlined in the Division tab for this event. Masters eligibility requires each teammate to be at least 35 years old on event day, with a combined team age of 80 or more. The tiebreak order is head to head results in the workouts, then the number of first place finishes, then overall time in workouts where time is the score. Registration is offered at two price points, with early teams priced at 160 dollars per team and regular entry at 190 dollars per team. All purchases are final, and substitutions may be approved by the head judge before competition begins. Capacity is set at 60 teams and individual divisions may close when full, with a waitlist used if needed. On site offerings include Sticks the Ice Pop Shop, Caffeination Station, and Nautical Bowls, plus athlete support between heats from Wild Fox Massage. Teams will receive a sign again this year along with other swag. Additional event details such as heat times, parking, and sponsor updates will be released as the competition approaches.

Wild Workouts: Mindful Nature Immersion
Explore mindfulness as a path to connect with the surrounding landscape while also turning inward. The class starts with approachable techniques and continues with a guided nature immersion to practice them in real time. The experience is designed to expand awareness, strengthen focus, awaken the senses, and encourage a warm, openhearted presence. It also aims to build appreciation for the natural world and foster compassion for animals, other people, and oneself. No prior experience is necessary, and participants of any level are welcome. The class lasts about an hour, with an additional 15 minutes before and after for gathering, a short walk, preparation, and wrap up and pick up. Open to ages 16 and up. If you plan to write or sketch afterward, bring a journal. Sessions are held in Central Plaza or Discovery Bay. Pricing is $15 for members and $20 for non-members. Instruction is led by Richard Bonk, who holds a Master of Education in Counseling, has over 30 years of healthcare experience, is a longtime member of Common Ground Meditation with more than 40 years of mindfulness practice, and is also an artist and lifelong naturalist.
