Women Rising: Rest, Reflect, Rise

This monthly space invites women to slow down, clear the mind, and reconnect with themselves. Each session weaves a shared tarot reading for group insight with personal intuitive card work that requires no prior experience. Conversation explores self-trust, boundaries, and clarity. It is not structured as a standard tarot class, and newcomers are welcome. Participation in discussion is voluntary, so it is perfectly fine to simply observe and reflect. The gathering takes place at Soulshine Cottage and is facilitated by Amanda Halderman, a Tarot and Lenormand reader, psychic medium, mentor, and teacher. Admission is $20 at the door, with payment accepted via cash, Cash App, PayPal, Venmo, or credit and debit cards. Advance reservations help secure a seat, and walk-ins may be accommodated if space allows.

Ccp's “Chicago, The Musical!”

The teen-focused edition of Capital City Productions’ Spotz! On the Artist Series presents Chicago, The Musical in the TEEN Version, led by Christina Stout, a CCP executive board member and director. Built exclusively for teens, the program uses early casting and a rehearsal plan designed around school commitments. Adapted with iTheatrics, this Kander and Ebb classic follows chorus girl Roxie Hart in Jazz Age Chicago after she kills a cheating lover and briefly convinces her husband, Amos, to shoulder the blame. When the truth emerges and she lands on death row, Roxie and fellow inmate Velma Kelly compete for attention and headlines, then ultimately align in pursuit of fame, fortune, and acquittal. The show’s history includes a 1975 Broadway premiere directed and choreographed by Bob Fosse that ran 936 performances, followed by a 1996 revival that opened at the Richard Rodgers Theatre, moved to the Shubert, then to the Ambassador Theatre, where it has continued for decades with nearly 10,000 performances. Accolades span ten Tony Award nominations in 1975, a Drama Desk Award that year, and six Tony Awards and six Drama Desk Awards in 1997 for the revival, including Best Revival of a Musical and Outstanding Revival of a Musical. Guests can choose between a dinner-and-show experience served in the Sweet Spotz banquet room inside the theatre by an award-winning caterer, or a show-only ticket that allows bringing personal snacks. Coffee, tea, and water are provided, and patrons may bring their own beverages, alcoholic or non-alcoholic. Performances are offered as both evening and matinee presentations. Paper tickets are issued and scanned at entry, and seats or tables are selected during purchase. The production is staged on Capital City Productions’ expansive 125 foot mainstage.
