Caturday Visiting Hours at Tenth Life Cat Rescue

Caturday Visiting Hours at Tenth Life Cat Rescue offers time in the adoption lounge with cats of many ages and personalities, whether you are considering adoption or simply want cuddles. A $10 donation covers cat time during the open window, supports Tenth Life's work, and helps make these visiting hours possible. Capacity is limited. Walk-ins may be accommodated if space allows but are not guaranteed. An RSVP, or a $10 donation with a walk-in, is required to visit with the cats, while stopping by for resources, questions, or to drop off donations does not require one. The lounge is family friendly. Guests under 18 must be with a parent or legal guardian, with a maximum of two children per adult, and every guest needs a ticket. Nearby street parking is available, metered and unmetered. Printed tickets are not required because names can be looked up on arrival. All ticket sales are final, though tickets may be transferred to a friend. Since 2009, Tenth Life has provided veterinary care, foster homes, and adoptive placement for stray cats and kittens, prioritizing those with special needs or injuries, and works to reduce unnecessary euthanasia and cat homelessness through education, community programs, and partnerships. Events are indoors, ADA compliant, wheelchair accessible, and near public transit, with chairs available. If individual assistance such as an aide or sign language interpreter is needed, advance notice allows time to locate a volunteer. All visitors will be asked to sign a waiver upon arrival, and this series may be professionally photographed for Tenth Life marketing.

Cars and Cones STL

The fourth Cars and Cones STL meetup of 2026 brings the car community together with Soda Fountain Ice Cream at Union Station, set beside a covered parking area with ample spaces and plenty to explore throughout the evening. This gathering features the Revved Up Wishes Foundation, The Audi Exchange showcasing several Audis, and an expected appearance by the STL Fire Department with firetrucks on display. Revved Up Wishes is an automotive nonprofit that connects extraordinary cars with children facing serious illnesses, encourages hands-on experiences rather than keeping cars at a distance, collaborates with local partners, and often fuels its mission through spirited ride experiences that support fundraising efforts. Families and friends are welcome, whether attending for the vehicles or a sweet treat, and patience is appreciated if the ice cream shop gets busy. Clear conduct guidelines apply: no burnouts, no engine revving including motorcycles, no two-step, no reckless driving, no drugs, and no dangerous behavior, and do not encourage others to do so. Violations can result in being asked to leave permanently, and cameras are in use. Motorcycles are not permitted. Attendees are expected to be respectful, follow the law, and understand they are responsible for their own actions. By attending, participants agree to these rules so the meetups can continue in a safe, family-friendly environment.

The Essence of Medical Practice

Physicians work to preserve and restore balance in the body, and much of that effort centers on making sound diagnoses. This series explores how clinical information is gathered, the interplay between pattern recognition and analytical reasoning, and what clinicians do when answers remain uncertain. It traces the path from patient history and physical examination to laboratory testing and imaging, then shows how probabilistic thinking supports a working diagnosis that guides care in the medical office, the emergency room and critical care unit, and the psychiatric clinic. Sessions progress from the foundations of homeostasis and bedside observation to confirming initial impressions with tests, tailoring therapy through precision and personalization, and addressing disorders of the mind, concluding with perspectives from emergency and critical care medicine. The program is led by Stanley Misler, MD, PhD, emeritus faculty in Internal Medicine and in Cell Biology and Physiology at Washington University Medical Center.

Honored with Thomas Edison Music Awards for Rock/Pop Artist of the Year and Record of the Year in 2024, and Solo/Duo Artist of the Year in 2023, they craft catchy, relatable songs that blend rock and pop with heartfelt storytelling, charm, and grit. All riders must check in and complete a waiver. Helmets and bike lights are mandatory. Several pace options are offered to match comfort and goals. A beginner-friendly group focuses on enjoying the ride rather than an average speed, aiming for up to 10 miles in about 1 hour and 45 minutes. Party Pace typically averages 12 to 13 mph over roughly 15 miles. The intermediate group targets 14 to 15 mph for about 20 miles. The advanced group rides 16 mph or faster for approximately 30 miles. Routes change from week to week to provide a range of safe options across parts of St. Louis City and County suited to each group’s ability.

Pace Series

At Forest Park Visitors Center, the St. Louis Track Club presents a long-running Summer Pace Series that emphasizes pacing yourself rather than competing against others. Across 16 weeks, participants follow a variety of routes through Forest Park that range from about 3K to 4.2 miles. Before each run, everyone predicts a finish time, puts away watches and phones, and tries to match that estimate by feel. Points are awarded based on how close runners and walkers come to their predictions, with monthly ribbons for top estimators and season champions honored with trophies during the closing celebration. Each session is $1, and optional donations help with post-run snacks and the end-of-season party. Walkers and runners of all experience levels are welcome in a supportive, social environment. Registration is not required, but a signed waiver is necessary before participating. Most updates are shared by email, and the same registration link is used to complete the waiver and join the list.

Wednesday Night Gaming at Pieces!

Settle in for an evening of tabletop fun at Pieces Board Game Bar and Cafe. Bring a favorite game or pick from the games on hand, with options that range from quick and easy to long and challenging. Even if online RSVPs look light, a regular crowd of at least ten typically turns up. The group meets in a separate private space with cell-style booths rather than in the main bar. After you enter, head toward the glass doors for Pieces and look for the single doorway on the left that leads to that room, or ask a staff member for directions. Happy hour specials are available for early arrivals, and outside food or drink is not permitted. Free street parking is available, and the lot across the street is not open to the public. Some online maps may still point to a former location, so use your preferred navigation app to find the current spot.

"Pulp Fiction" with Live Q&A, presented by The IDEAS Institute

At Alamo Drafthouse St. Louis, The IDEAS Institute presents the third installment of its Film Series with a screening of Pulp Fiction, followed by a live Q&A. The program reflects on the lineage of Depression-era pulp magazines, whose brash, affordable crime and detective tales, sometimes tinged with the supernatural, captured imaginations and helped shape modern genres. Decades later, Quentin Tarantino channels that unruly spirit with exacting craft, shaping a redemption narrative that unfolds alongside overdose scenes and other startling moments, suggesting that cinema can hold the profound and the profane together. The IDEAS Institute Film Series fosters conversation across media, culture, art, academia, and spirituality, building community through shared viewing and discussion that prizes interpretation over passive consumption, with the aim of enriching the inner life of St. Louis.
