This weekend in Hinds County, MS

Hosted by 100 Black Men of Jackson, Inc., this community celebration at the Jackson Convention Complex features two hallmark experiences: the Annual Scholarship and Mentoring Luncheon and a Masquerade Gala. The focus is on empowering young people, with support helping sustain mentorship, education, and opportunities for those the organization serves.

Nether Hour appears with For Eve at Duling Hall in Jackson, MS, bringing an Austin-born blend of Louisiana groove with funk, blues, soul, and rock. The trio features Bobby Flaco on gritty vocals and guitar, Bishop on lead guitar and mandolin, and Bercy on bass, locking into a raw, road-tested sound that lights up the room. Raised in the country yet steering clear of country music, they deliver a driving, high-energy set.

A friendly volunteer session focused on preparing free books for people incarcerated in Mississippi correctional facilities. Participants work together to pack titles for readers inside. Paperback donations are welcome during the event, and donors are asked to review the accepted titles guidelines beforehand.
