Family events in Whitefish, MT

Young creators ages 2 to 5, accompanied by an adult, explore hands-on art projects that spark imagination and build early art skills. Using paper, paint, markers, crayons, and glue, children and their grown-ups make simple, colorful pieces together in a welcoming setting. Pre-registration is not required. A suggested donation of $3 per child applies for non-members, and participation is free with a Family Membership. If cost is a concern, families are encouraged to join at no charge or contribute what they can. Donations help maintain a safe space with non-toxic, professional supplies, support front desk staffing and utilities, pay teachers trained in early childhood art and development, and keep the program open to the community. Some sessions may be canceled for holidays or exhibit installation.

Organized in support of the American Foundation for Suicide Prevention, this Out of the Darkness community walk centers on connection, hope, and healing on the path toward a future without suicide. Attendees can look forward to an opening ceremony that sets a thoughtful tone, powerful testimonies from survivors and families who have lost loved ones, and Honor Beads that symbolize each person’s relationship to the cause. The route encourages everyone to move together side by side, and a Hope and Resource area features local mental health partners offering information and support. The program creates space to remember those who have died, stand with those who are struggling, and affirm a shared commitment to making mental health a priority and saving lives. Whether personally affected, supporting someone close, or advocating for mental wellness, people of many backgrounds find a place here, carrying a shared message that no one has to walk this journey alone.
