Set among the fields of Haskill Creek Farms near Whitefish with views of Big Mountain, this annual Farm Dinner Fundraiser supports Land to Hand’s education and food access work in the Valley. Chef Chris DiMaio of Montana Craft Kitchen will serve a multi-course menu featuring peak-season local ingredients, complemented by regional wine and beer plus a non-alcoholic cocktail. Live music by local musician Deidre Corson is planned, and attendees can hear stories from Land to Hand staff about program impacts made possible by community giving. This third session in the Tales of Glacier summer series features wildlife biologist Diane Boyd, who will share insights from forty years of studying and advocating for wolves in Montana near Glacier National Park. In the 1970s she was the only woman in the United States conducting research on wild wolves and fitting them with radio collars. With only her two dogs for company, she weathered Montana winters in a remote cabin without electricity or running water. The program takes place outdoors by the Trappers Cabin at the Glacier Institute Headquarters. Beer and wine will be sold, and s'mores supplies are free if the weather cooperates. Please bring your own seating, as well as any food and drinks.

The Cedar Flats Trail Trot marks the first trail race at Cedar Flats, hosted by the trail-building nonprofit Gateway to Glacier Trails. This 10k features 791 feet of elevation gain, beginning at the new Cedar Ridge Trailhead and looping through the Cedar Flats trail system. Near Columbia Falls, this nonmotorized, multiuse network spans more than 15 miles, built and maintained by Gateway to Glacier Trails, and winds through Flathead National Forest. Expect a fun atmosphere and flowing trails, plus the chance to be part of a debut event on these paths. Early 10k registration is $40, then $50 afterward, and all proceeds support Gateway to Glacier Trails. Participation is limited.

Presented by the Columbia Falls Area Chamber of Commerce, this free outdoor movie night in Marantette Park features The Parent Trap on the screen near the bandshell. Concessions will be available for purchase, including fresh popcorn, candy, and soft drinks. Bring a blanket or a lawn chair for seating, with chairs placed farther back so everyone can see. Montana Treehouse Retreat launches its first outdoor concert in an intimate 100 seat setting nestled among the trees, crafted with the same care and artistry as the retreat’s treehouses. Touring artist Laura Gibson, hosted by local musical collective Tin Finley, makes her debut at this venue. An Oregon singer and songwriter, Gibson blends literary craft with unfiltered feeling, grounded in traditional folk while embracing experimentation. She has toured four continents and gave the very first NPR Tiny Desk Concert. With an intimate, haunting voice and poetic lyrics over melodies that nod to baroque textures as well as contemporary sounds, her set is well matched to the forest setting. Tin Finley opens with a collection of original songs, weaving individual stories into a unified voice. Their sound bridges worlds with ethereal folk and a character all their own, painting atmospheric scenes through evocative lyrics, soaring harmonies, melodic guitars, and warm piano. Tickets are $25. Previously known as the Festivus Games, TRU Challenge is a worldwide functional fitness competition created for everyday athletes rather than elite RX specialists. The programming emphasizes capacity over complex skills, using straightforward movements so participants across a wide range of abilities can compete safely. It is set up for newcomers and experienced enthusiasts alike, with divisions for Novice, Intermediate, RX, Masters 40-54 and 55+, and Adaptive. Athletes who typically compete at RX or Elite levels, or who have finished among the top tiers of The Open, are not eligible. Competitors can take part as individuals or as pairs, with male-male, female-female, or mixed teams. The workouts are designed to feel approachable while still delivering a solid challenge within a lively, community-centered atmosphere. First, second, and third place finishers in each division, for both individuals and teams, earn custom TRU Challenge medals along with starter swag.
