Gather & Garden Workday
Support the Herring Peace Garden at a weekly after school workday focused on tending the garden and building community. Open to all ages. Children must attend with a grownup unless arrangements are made in advance with Farmers Nicole, Jordan or Lark. Tools are provided and no gardening experience is needed.
Lucy S. Herring Elementary SchoolHope in Uncertain Times: Practical Tools for Everyday Strength
YWCA’s Master of Social Work intern, Maura Crenshaw, leads a self-care workshop focused on cultivating hope as a practical tool for everyday strength. Through guided conversation and interactive activities, participants explore ways to build resilience, support personal growth, and face uncertain moments with confidence. There is no cost to attend, and capacity is limited, so registration is requested.
Art & Chill
Enjoy a relaxed, no-pressure creative session at Art & Chill. Bring any art, craft, or hobby supplies you want to use and drop in at any point to make progress on a lingering project, experiment with a new idea, or simply doodle. It is also fine to come just to hang out. Musicians who want to share what they are working on are welcome, and all art forms are encouraged. Sennyo will have some basic supplies on hand if you arrive without materials. Open to all ages, with participants 13 and under required to be accompanied by an adult. No registration required.
OnTrack WNC's Annual Event: Fund the Future
Fund the Future, OnTrack WNC’s annual event, is a celebration of neighbors and a chance to strengthen financial resilience across Western North Carolina. In 2025, OnTrack WNC supported 1,987 individuals as they set financial goals through budgeting, building credit, managing debt, learning about the homebuying process, and protecting their housing with foreclosure prevention. The organization provides a welcoming space for financial education and counseling, and its team takes part in long-term recovery groups throughout the region to share timely information and support. Attendees can look forward to dishes from local caterer Cecilia’s Kitchen featuring Argentinian and French-inspired flavors, along with beer, wine, and non-alcoholic beverages served by Highland Brewing. The event includes live music from Delta House Jazz Band, a special video recognizing the dedication of clients, and a raffle that supports OnTrack WNC’s mission, with prizes that include a two night stay at the Biltmore Village Hotel.
