Recovery of the Soul (ROTS) celebrates its fifth year with a 12 Step campout at Standing Indian Campground, Group Site C, welcoming individuals in recovery along with their friends and family. The weekend centers on community, sober fun, and uplifting one another in recovery. Registration is open. Overnight participants should plan to check in on Friday evening. The cost is 60 dollars per person, and a limited number of scholarships are available upon request. Saturday features a community potluck followed by a 12 Step meeting in the afternoon. Day campers are invited to spend the day at no charge and are asked to bring a covered dish to share. Activities include a morning hike to Andrew's Bald, a corn horn tournament, crafts, drumming, and time for fellowship. To help create a safe environment, the campout has a strict no alcohol and no drugs policy. While grounded in Twelve Step principles, it is not affiliated with any specific 12 Step fellowship and welcomes all forms of recovery. For the comfort of all participants, dogs are not permitted.
