All Around Performance HorsesExhibition: "At What Point Does a Circle Break to Form a Spiral"
North Carolina artist Tom Braswell presents a solo exhibition that asks when a closed loop opens into forward motion, inviting visitors to consider the shift from repetition to growth and from continuity to exploration. Spanning decades of work, the presentation gathers photographs, sculpture and assemblage, conceptual pieces, prints, and installations. Across these varied forms, Braswell pursues connections among science, philosophy, ecology, and visual culture, drawing on long-standing curiosities about quantum phenomena, the fourth spatial dimension, Zen practice, pataphysics, art theory, and the ways natural systems intersect with human-shaped environments. The works encourage fresh ways of seeing and quiet attention to the unseen patterns that organize experience. Together they suggest the spiral as a fitting image for artistic practice, circling familiar questions while moving toward new meanings. Free admission for all visitors. Support is provided by David and Susan Boyette, Melanie Mauzé, Rebecca Tighe, and Marcia and Buster Williamson.
