Ukulele Basics Workshop Series

Explore a gentle path into music making with a four week Ukulele Basics workshop series led by Becca Staats of Joyful Noyzes Music Therapy. The focus is not on technical skill. It invites you to slow down, notice your body, connect in a safe community, and give your nervous system space to settle. No prior experience is required, and instruments are provided. Each ticket includes the entire series, a full month of unlimited access to all ENGAGE in-person workshops, and 24/7 access to Healing Place @ Hesed, a private online trauma recovery community. Participation in the series also serves as entry into the ENGAGE Community Program for that month. Learning chords and rhythm can sharpen focus and build confidence, the steady motions of strumming support coordination and ease tension, and making music opens doors to creativity and expression. Familiar songs can bring comfort and meaning, and playing alongside others can cultivate joy, belonging, and shared moments. Healing can sound like a soft strum. ENGAGE workshops are trauma informed and grounded in interpersonal neurobiology. They emphasize the role of safe, attuned relationships in restoring balance and supporting long term emotional and relational well being. Gentle, sensory based practices such as music, arts and pottery, yoga, horticulture, tai chi, and related activities are woven throughout. These offerings complement therapy and recovery supports, and they also stand on their own as a meaningful resource for adults. Group size is intentionally small with a minimum of 4 and a maximum of 6 participants. Ticket sales close at noon on the day before the series begins so plans can be finalized.
