The steady pulse of a shamanic drum, the gentle shimmer of chimes, and the resonant layers of crystal singing bowls serve as companions, inviting the body to soften and the mind to grow quiet. As sound moves through the room, breath may deepen and the nervous system may settle. Sensations can include tingling, warmth, lightness or heaviness, subtle movement, or a wave of release. As thinking slows, a meditative or dreamlike state can emerge, with memories, imagery, or fresh clarity rising to the surface. Emotions may flow in many forms, such as tears, laughter, tenderness, relief, peace, or simply a sense of more space inside. Some people rest deeply, some receive insights, and others notice the effects later. There is nothing you are required to experience and nowhere you need to get to. The drum offers grounding, the chimes help open and shift the space, and the singing bowls surround the body with vibration. Participants may sit or lie down. Eight local networking groups face off in a friendly team competition that blends community networking, playful family reunion style games, food, and fundraising for a meaningful cause benefiting Big Brothers Big Sisters through Big Day at the Lake. The experience mixes casual meet and greet energy with organized challenges, so it feels part mixer, part tournament, part charity drive. Teams built by each networking group field players across ten events, including cornhole, HORSE basketball, ping pong, 301 darts, a Chippo golf contest, giant Jenga, coed 2v2 grass volleyball, a mini football pass and catch played all at once, a relay of everyday tasks done blindfolded, and a tug of war. Participants can focus on a single game or jump into several. Points accumulate across the schedule with five for first place, four for second, three for third, two for fourth, one for fifth, and none for sixth through eighth. Experience a murder mystery dinner theater at the Newton Performing Arts Center inspired by the beloved film and classic board game, Clue. Tickets are presale only, with a dinner and show package for $75 and a show only option for $25. Doors open for dinner service at the stated time and cannot open earlier on show nights. Guests with show only tickets may enter at the designated entry time for their ticket type. Dinner features three courses. It begins with a fresh garden salad, continues with a hearty plate that includes grilled shrimp, beef steak tips with peppers and onions, chicken tenders, grilled vegetables, and a baked potato, and concludes with a devil’s food cake for dessert. Tea and water are included, and a bar will offer soft drinks, beer, wine, and themed cocktails for purchase. Onstage, a storm rages outside while a quirky group of guests gathers at Boddy Manor. Each arrives under an alias, a butler presents an assortment of possible weapons, and the host is discovered dead. Iconic figures like Scarlet, Plum, White, Green, Peacock, and Mustard race to uncover the culprit before the list of victims grows, all in a fast-paced comedy filled with twists until the final reveal.

Shoals Grill2 Day Horsemanship Clinic
Strengthen the partnership with your horse at a two day horsemanship clinic at Southern Sky Stables in Mooresville, North Carolina. The program focuses on essential skills that make a lasting difference, including how horses learn, clear communication, and developing a responsive partner from the ground up. Participants work on purposeful forward motion and direction, improved softness and body control, better timing, feel, and consistency in cues, and ways to create a relaxed, willing, mentally engaged horse. Common challenges are addressed with practical strategies to build clarity and confidence. Instruction is tailored to each rider and horse by Michael and Julia, offering individualized guidance whether you are building a foundation or refining established skills. The fee is $600 per participant. Lunch, drinks, and snacks are included. Onsite stalls are available for $25 per night with limited availability and advance reservation.
