9001. Introduction to Woodworking

Learn the basics of woodworking from foundational hand and machine skills to cutting clean, accurate joinery. In this class, you’ll work through key machines in the wood studio, mill and dimension lumber, and build a modern plant stand with half lap joinery. Along the way, you’ll practice measuring and marking, get comfortable using the tools, and talk about choosing the right finish. The finished plant stand is designed to fit a plant pot about 8 to 10 inches in diameter. A $25 materials fee is due at registration, and registration closes one week before the class starts. Ages 18 and up.
