The session starts with an introduction to the chakras, including their colors, symbols, and emotional themes. A full body yoga flow follows, created to support balance across the energy centers, and it concludes with a guided Reiki meditation focused on the chakras. There is a break for nourishment before moving into a step by step acrylic painting segment on 16 by 20 inch canvases, where each person creates an intuitive interpretation of the chakra system using either traditional imagery or abstract expression. All supplies are provided, including canvases, acrylic paints, brushes, and refreshments. Please bring a yoga mat. A few spare mats will be available, and Sarah will bring blocks, blankets, straps, and pillows. Space is limited to 10 participants.

Hosted by the Community Foundation of Grand Forks, East Grand Forks & Region, the event offers children’s activities, storytelling, snacks and beverages, and remarks from local leaders and supporters. The flow includes an open house and activities, a program with speakers, then more time for hands-on fun. Dolly Parton’s Imagination Library is an early childhood literacy initiative that mails a free, high quality, age-appropriate book each month to enrolled children from birth until their fifth birthday, encouraging a love of reading from the start. Tae & The Neighborly bring a soul-pop R&B sound to the Museum’s Sculpture Garden. The Wisconsin group formed in an unusual way, as neighbors living on separate floors of the same five-story building. Reviewers highlight a live show that bursts with energy yet goes down easy, and their songs lean into self love, positive change, and thoughtful connection. Attendees can bring a blanket or folding chair for comfortable lawn seating. Fresh grilled meals from the Museum Cafe will be available, along with root beer floats as well as beer and wine. The series features opening acts ahead of the headliner. Tickets are $20 for individuals and $15 for members. A $75 season pass includes five flexible tickets that can be used for any concert in the series, and admission is free for children ages 12 and under. Drop in on Tuesday gatherings in the community garden for an hour and a half of hands-on learning and conversation. A gardener offers office hours to demonstrate how to care for the learning garden and to explain the techniques used with different plants, while neighbors connect and share ideas. All ages are welcome. To make the most of the visit, wear shoes that can get dirty and, if possible, bring a water bottle and gloves. A limited supply of these items may be available for those who need them, and a folding lawn chair is welcome. Volunteers who come regularly to contribute time and energy to growing food may harvest during the session with permission from the team. Please do not pick produce unless invited during the visit. This program is presented in partnership with Live Well Grand Cities and other local organizations, with a focus on cultivating both healthy gardens and community connections.

An artist reception presented by the Northwest Minnesota Arts Council spotlights Iron and Feathers: Art of the Northwest at the Historic Fournet Building. The exhibition features 35 original paintings by Ross Hier and Beau Bakken, spanning watercolor on paper and acrylic on canvas, with most pieces available for purchase. Refreshments will be available, and violinist Eden Johnson of Lake Bronson will perform live. Admission is free, and parking is free. The exhibition wraps up following the reception. Hier, a watercolor painter with a background in wildlife management, translates the prairies, parklands, wetlands, and forests of northwest Minnesota into spontaneous, nature-focused works. Bakken, a Hallock artist and frequent participant in NWMAC shows, contributes eight paintings inspired by the Red River Valley and has earned first-place, People’s Choice, and Artist of the Year recognition. In total, twenty-seven of the works on view are by Hier. The gallery is located in the building’s atrium on the second floor.
