Soccer Stars partners with Merrimack Parks and Rec at Wasserman Park to offer weekly classes that use the soccer ball as a tool for learning. Children build soccer fundamentals alongside self-confidence, physical literacy, gross motor abilities, and social skills, with supportive coaches fostering teamwork in a playful and educational setting. Options include a Parent and Me class for ages 12 to 24 months, as well as Super Soccer Stars sessions for ages 2 to 3 and 4 to 5. In winter, classes are held in the Function Hall, and during spring through fall they take place on the field below the dog park. Marvel heroes and villains collide across the Multiverse in Magic: Marvel Super Heroes, and this prerelease offers an early chance to explore the new set. This is a Sealed Deck tournament for all skill levels. Each participant receives a prerelease kit that includes six Play Boosters from Magic: Marvel Super Heroes, an additional foil rare or mythic rare, and a spindown d20. Build a minimum 40 card deck from your pool and basic lands, with basics available on site or bring your own. The event features three Swiss rounds. Soccer Stars partners with Merrimack Parks and Recreation at Wasserman Park for weekly Sunday youth soccer classes that use the game to build confidence, movement fundamentals, social skills, and core motor development. Coaches lead age-appropriate activities and teamwork exercises in a supportive, educational setting. Sessions take place on the field across from the Community Garden and are organized as Parent & Me, a class for ages 2 to 3, and a class for ages 4 to 5. Merrimack Sparkler 5K Run/Walk

Now in its 29th year, the Merrimack Sparkler 5K Run/Walk brings the community together in support of student athletes. Organized by the Merrimack Road Runners Booster Club, an all-volunteer group that champions running at both the Middle School and High School, the event is the club’s biggest fundraiser. Proceeds directly benefit Merrimack cross country, indoor track, and outdoor track and field programs, and community backing helps fund scholarships for graduating seniors. The course starts and finishes on the Merrimack High School track, continuing the format used since 2021.

The lineup extends beyond guitars, bass, and drums to include fiddle, banjo, lap steel, and slide guitar, with strong lead vocals and tight harmonies. Expect dance friendly hits inspired by artists such as Luke Bryan, Blake Shelton, Eric Church, Dierks Bentley, Luke Combs, Randy Houser, David Nail, Morgan Wallen, and Post Malone. Attendees can bring lawn chairs and dinner for a relaxed evening of live music with family and friends.

Car Show, Veteran Cookout and Live Concert with Ricky Lee

Celebrate the Beverly Veterans Council Car Show with a showcase of vehicles and a dedicated cookout for veterans. A classical tribute to Coldplay arrives at First Baptist Church of Nashua, featuring a string trio performing instrumental versions of fan favorites. Presented by Lumos, known for creating distinctive concert experiences in unique venues worldwide, this stop in the U.S. series offers two sittings. The program includes selections such as Clocks, Everglow, Paradise, Magic, My Universe, Hymn for the Weekend, We Pray, Trouble, Yellow, Something Just Like This, A Sky Full of Stars, Fix You, Viva La Vida, and Adventure of a Lifetime. Seating is first come first served within your allocated zone, arranged in Platinum, Gold, Silver, and Bronze. Guests ages eight and older are welcome. The venue is wheelchair accessible, though front row seating cannot be guaranteed. A donation is made to a different charity each month.

2026 Paranormal Truth Seekers Expo

Noam Pikelny & Stuart Duncan

This event spotlights two leaders of American string music, banjo virtuoso Noam Pikelny and master fiddler Stuart Duncan. Pikelny, a founding member of Punch Brothers, has earned top honors including the Steve Martin Prize for Excellence in Banjo and Bluegrass and multiple International Bluegrass Music Association Banjo Player of the Year awards. His work with Punch Brothers garnered a Grammy for Best Folk Album for All Ashore. He also performs with the Grammy-nominated bluegrass group Mighty Poplar and co-hosts The Energy Curfew Music Hour, a Chris Thile and Punch Brothers musical variety podcast from Audible that has been recognized by the Webby Awards and the Signal Awards. He is an inductee of the American Banjo Museum Hall of Fame in the Five-String Performance category. Duncan began playing at seven and went on to collect four Grammys, a series of Academy of Country Music honors, and nine IBMA Fiddle Player of the Year titles. A versatile multi-instrumentalist on fiddle, banjo, guitar, and mandolin, he moves easily beyond bluegrass while remaining rooted in its tradition. Renowned for improvisation that elevates the music rather than overtaking it, he has collaborated with Plant Krauss, Diana Krall, Lyle Lovett, Béla Fleck, Steven Tyler, and Elvis Costello. The event highlights bluegrass roots alongside boundary-crossing creativity from two acclaimed instrumentalists.

Abbie Griffin Park hosts the Merrimack Parks & Recreation Department’s free Thursday Night Live summer concert series, offering live music in a variety of styles. This edition features children’s performer Sammie Haynes, whose award-winning songs have delighted young listeners and their families from New England to the West Coast for more than 30 years, with recognition that includes Parent’s Choice and National Parenting Publications awards. She enjoys engaging with kids during performances and uses humor to keep the experience lively. Based in southern Maine, she also teaches Music Together and performs adult music with her Rhythm and Roots and Texas swing band, MAINESQUEEZE, as well as with her husband, singer-songwriter Cormac McCarthy. Attendees are welcome to bring family and friends, lawn chairs, and dinner for a relaxed evening in the park. Presented in partnership with the Merrimack Public Library, this children’s concert concludes the library’s summer reading program.
