An open mic at the Grotto welcomes singers, dancers, rappers, instrumentalists, songwriters, comedians, and anyone in between. Hosted by Jim Tyrrell, this is a chance for performers to share their skills on stage. Admission is free.

The band’s history is interwoven with standout vocal performances. Jack Leonard recorded favorites like Dedicated To You, Little White Lies, You Taught Me To Love Again, Once In A While, and Marie. Frank Sinatra’s years with the orchestra marked a major leap in the group’s success, and he often credited Dorsey for influencing his phrasing and breath control. Sy Oliver refreshed the ensemble’s sound with originals such as Easy Does It, Yes, Indeed, Swingin’ On Nothing, Well, Git It, and Opus No 1, and with fresh treatments of pop standards including What Can I Say After I Say I’m Sorry, For You, Mandy, Chicago, Swanee River, Make Up Your Mind, and On the Sunny Side of the Street. Vocal features ranged from This Love of Mine and Embraceable You to There Are Such Things, Just As Though You Were Here, Street of Dreams, and Oh, Look At Me Now, culminating in the landmark hit I’ll Never Smile Again. From topping Martin Block’s Make Believe Ballroom poll to helping define a golden era of American music, this legacy has endured. Today, the Tommy Dorsey Orchestra continues to deliver high-energy, swinging big band entertainment with the romance and precision that made its name legendary.

Live music fills the Blue Bistro at NASWA Resort as Marlena Phillips takes the stage for an evening of songs, food, and a relaxed lakeside atmosphere. Crystal Ship delivers a faithful celebration of The Doors, bringing the music, mystique, and intensity of a classic concert to the stage and evoking the energy of the 1960s Sunset Strip. The production focuses on authenticity, featuring vintage instruments and gear along with period-specific costumes. Led by Eddie Racci, the performance honors the legacy of Jim Morrison and the band with close attention to sound and stage presence. Crystal Ship has drawn crowds around the world with sellout shows in the UK and Germany and tours throughout the Northeast and the East Coast. Ages 13 and up.
