    233 Broadway, Bayonne
    See details

Gain rare entry to one of Manhattan’s downtown icons on an exclusive interior tour of the Woolworth Building, the neo-Gothic skyscraper commissioned by F. W. Woolworth and designed by Cass Gilbert. Celebrated as the world’s tallest from 1913 to 1930, this private landmark has been closed to the general public since 2020, and this official experience is a sanctioned way to step inside. Licensed New York City guides and Woolworth Building specialists Bob Gelber or Ed Welter lead a close look at the history often linked to the Cathedral of Commerce, from the ornate terracotta exterior to the soaring lobby with marble walls, vaulted ceilings, and hidden symbols. The visit also continues below street level to see the historic vault and the building’s original safe deposit boxes. Please note that there are no public restrooms. The route is limited to the lobby and first sub level, and elevator access between floors can be arranged in advance. For the safety and preservation of the space, remain with the group and do not wander beyond the approved areas. Comfortable footwear is recommended, as there are no opportunities to sit.
